Here at Sri KDU, we offer the Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM) from Secondary 1 – Secondary 5. Students sit for the PT3 examinations at Secondary 3 and SPM examinations at Secondary 5.
Sri KDU teachers are well qualified and committed as each teacher strives to create an atmosphere that fosters enthusiasm for learning and promotes the personal development of each student. Students in Secondary 1 are taught English, Mathematics & Science using the International Curriculum (CIE) Lower Secondary alongside the National Curriculum. Subjects such as Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language), Sejarah (History), Geografi (Geography) and Pendidikan Seni Visual (Visual Art Studies) are also one of the various subjects that students will learn from Secondary 1-3.
Additional compulsory subjects will be Cambridge ICT Starters, Mandarin and Structured Performing Arts (SPA).
At Secondary 4, students have the option of studying in either Pure Science or Humanities streams which they continue in Secondary 5. At Secondary 5, students would be required to take the SPM Examination.
Subjects such as Additional Mathematics, Physics and Biology would be offered in the Pure Science class. General Science, Ekonomi Asas (Basic Economics) and Prinsip Akaun (Principles of Accounts) would be offered in the Humanities class.
Upon completion of Secondary 5, students may take on the pre-university International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Sri KDU International School (SKIS).
Informal assessments are conducted as Class Tests. The results of the Class Tests and Homework/Portfolio/Projects carry a 10% weightage each in the percentile score for all assessments in the core subjects. Students who score less than 50% in the Class Tests and formal exams will be provided with Tutorials by teachers to help them progress. As we strongly believe that 'No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn't trying.' -Tony Robbins
Formal assessments for Secondary 1-5 will be conducted twice a year, Mid-Year Exam in May and Final-Year Exam in September/October.
A strong moral code is emphasized in our student’s social development which is supported by charity work, field trips and international exchange programmes to further broaden their experience of a global environment. With this, is how our students grow!
