Dear Families,
We hope that you are all safe and well. The school was full of hustle and bustle as per usual this week with a variety of events taking place outside normal learning. Thank you to Ms Bolton and Mrs McDermott for presenting and sharing our school’s best practice at the Association of International Malaysian Schools Teachmeet last night. Teachmeets, as the name suggests, is where colleagues from international schools join together to coach and update each other in specialist areas of education linked to their roles. Being asked to present is an honour and an indication of how highly our school community is regarded nationally.
Please be reminded that XCL Academies commenced this week. Sign up is still open and Mr Bently has included more information on the academies in a segment below. If your child would like to join an Academy, this can be done by visiting the website at Home | XCL Camps and Academies .
The Secondary staff have been extremely busy over the last few weeks administering and marking mock examinations. Thank you to colleagues for your hard work in what is always a period of high intensity during the academic year, and to the students for their diligence and resilience. Assessment is an important ongoing process where we measure both progress and attainment. Progress is key to us at this point in the year where we look at what is next in our learning and what needs to happen still. Learning is a journey and it is vital we have an understanding of where we are in this journey to ensure we still see what is to come.
We were delighted to welcome to school today expert Delischool dietitian consultant, Ms. Indra Balaratnam, who shared her wealth of knowledge on healthy meal ideas for children. Thank you to the families who attended and we hope the presentation was informative and useful. Today also saw many students wearing non-uniform in order to raise money to help support communities affected in Turkey and Syria by the recent earthquake. Donations will go to the Red Cross who are currently providing on the ground support and aid – thank you for your kind generosity.
Finally, please be reminded that next week in school is a four day week with Friday 24th February remaining a school holiday to mark Thaipusam.
Have a lovely weekend,
Graham Tait

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
