Dear Parents,
As we move ever closer to the end of the academic year, the pace of life at school certainly
hasn’t slowed down. In fact, it feels like we’re picking up even more momentum as we head
into the final stretch. Next week marks the start of our much anticipated Sports Week, with
the Walkathon on Wednesday, an event we always look forward to as a celebration of
energy, teamwork, and community spirit helping raise funds for charities. There’s so much
more to come, and we remain fully committed to making the last few weeks of term just as
rich and exciting as the rest of the year.
On a different but equally heartwarming note, we want to take a moment to recognise the
incredible kindness and acceptance we’ve been seeing among our students. Towards the
end of the last academic year, we placed a strong emphasis on kindness and restorative
communication, modelling what it looks like to speak with empathy, to listen with patience,
and to resolve conflicts thoughtfully. This term, we’ve been truly moved to see students
doing these things naturally and without prompt. They are addressing concerns with care,
resolving differences respectfully, and showing a level of compassion that makes us
incredibly proud. It's a reminder that we can learn from each other and this is something we
can all learn form our students.
Today, we also held our first ever Secondary School Careers Day, and what an incredible
success it was. A heartfelt thank you to the many parent volunteers who generously gave
up their time to speak to our students about their industries, share career journeys, and
offer guidance on future pathways. A very special thanks must go to Ms Shahiraa, whose
vision and organisation brought this day to life. Alongside the career talks, we welcomed a
number of universities who delivered engaging presentations and hands-on workshops,
giving students an exciting glimpse into what lies ahead. It was truly a day full of
inspiration, learning and possibility.
We’d also like to take a moment to wish Ms Belen Ardisana all the very best as she begins
her maternity leave next week. Her care, dedication and positivity have made a real impact
across our school community, and she will certainly be missed.
Have a lovely weekend,
Maryam Jazayeri,
Head of Secondary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
