EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME
Welcome From Sri KDU Schools
I am, and always will be, a teacher. It is what I trained to do and what I love doing. This is the start of my 29th year in the profession and one I am looking forward to immensely in my role as the Executive Principal for the Sri KDU Schools.
Our schools have established themselves as centres of excellence in so many different ways. Yet, schools are not about buildings and facilities, they are about people. Our academic results are testament to the hard work of our students, the expert guidance of their highly qualified teachers and the informed support of their families. We believe that all our students’ families are part of our school family and that the responsibility of raising children is one that benefits from being shared. We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s learning and we provide them with weekly updates and information sessions, to provide the necessary support and reassurance.
The staff have a passion for learning, commitment and professionalism to ensure that students not just succeed, but excel. Our continued heartfelt care for students, parents and staff; and desire to see our schools become the best educational centres in Malaysia, are central to our belief in developing well rounded students.
We are proud to be a diverse and international community following a British-style curriculum offering a learning experience which celebrates all our cultures, whilst working toward internationally accepted and accredited UK-standard qualifications. We are immensely proud to have been awarded the Gold Award for the International School Quality Mark (ISQM). We achieved the highest level of the award: given to the school by the Education Development Trust who confer this prestigious award to international schools in the UK and around the world. We were the first international school in Malaysia to receive the gold accolade. We are also proud to be members of the Association of International Malaysian Schools (AIMS), BMCC (British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce) and Cambridge Assessment for curriculum and examinations, because they confirm our standards meet the excellence that these organisations represent and demand and provide our students, their families and our staff with opportunities beyond the school campus.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our schools.
Growing up in Sri KDU Secondary School has given me a multitude of skills and plenty of opportunities. Having spent years in an institution that has always pushed for holistic education, focusing on supplementing academics with co-curricular activities has pushed students like me to step out of their comfort zone to really deep dive into our own individual strengths and weaknesses. The many activities and events held in school like Paramount Championships or Performance & Awards Nights have truly supported me to build confidence and step outside of my comfort zone. I am also grateful that beyond the SPM syllabus I had in 2009, I also get to widen my horizons with compulsory classes for Mandarin and ICT which have proven useful today in my career. I believe this has greatly impacted my way of working now, especially in my industry and line of work.
