Dear Parents and Guardians,
Firstly, I want to say ‘well done' to the Year 11 students who completed either an English or
Chinese speaking test or an ICT practical examination this week. After the holiday, we go
into full examination mode, starting with IGCSE Malay Speaking and the Art practical exams
before starting the full IGCSE series. Year 6 and Year 9 students will also be in exam action
in the first week back, sitting for Cambridge Checkpoint examinations. As ever, I extend our
best wishes to all sitting for examinations.
My congratulations also goes to Natalie Gan in Year 7 who represented the school at the
recent XCL’s Got Talent competition held at the Kota Damansara Campus. It was a very
hard-fought competition, with little difference in the final scores. Natalie achieved 3rd
place, the winner coming from XCL World Academy Singapore.
This week we launched our Hari Raya celebration – which will culminate in the open house
– please see below. A big thank you to the Malaysia Studies Team and the primary
performers. It was a good reminder about the fasting month and the celebration of faith.
On the returning Monday, during assembly we will be launching the International Award –
most referred to as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, we have a very exiting offer lined up as
part of the expedition with a very impressive person to support the expedition to East
Malaysia. More details to follow. On Friday, 19th April, there will be a parents’ workshop for
those parents who wish to learn more about the programme or the expedition. We will
send an RSVP in the first week of term.
As ever this term has been very busy for students and staff both in and out of school, so I
wish everyone a restful holiday. For Year 6,9 and 11 although revising ensure you take some
time out to relax during the week. Next term, the final term, will be another roller coaster of
learning, activities, competitions and the end of year and preparing for the next coming
academic year.
Also, next term, we are also hoping to establish a parent group that spans both the primary
and secondary as a number of parents have requested this to enable them to support the
school and their children further. There will be an initial meeting in the second week back
after the holiday, so I will confirm the date shortly. I hope as many of you who are
interested in supporting the school can either attend or lend your support to the venture. I
will send a formal invite for RSVP in the first week after the holiday.
I wish everyone a pleasant weekend and holiday.
April Peters
