Dear Families,
As we move further into this busy and exciting term at SISJ, it has been wonderful to see so
many enriching opportunities taking place across the school community. This week, our
Foundation Stage students enjoyed a memorable trip to Farm in the City, where they had
the chance to explore, interact with animals, and learn through hands-on experiences. It
was truly lovely to see their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit.
Today, we were also delighted to hold our Careers Day, which was an incredibly valuable
experience for our students. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the parents and volunteers
who generously gave their time to speak with students, share their experiences, and
provide insight into their various career pathways and industries. Opportunities such as
these are incredibly meaningful in helping students broaden their perspectives and begin
thinking more deeply about their own aspirations and futures. A very special thank you also
goes to Ms Shahiraa for all of her hard work in organising and coordinating the event so
successfully.
Across the school, students have continued to impress us with their commitment and
achievements. Our Year 6 transition process has gone exceptionally well, with students
adapting positively and confidently as they prepare for the next stage of their educational
journey. Y6s enjoyed two full days in the secondary school getting familiar with secondary
school life and demands. At the same time, our IGCSE and A Level students continue to
demonstrate resilience, maturity, and dedication as they sit for their exams.
This week and next, students will also be participating in our Upcycling Fashion House
Activity, encouraging creativity, sustainability, collaboration, and house spirit. We are also
delighted to share that our Head Prefect selection process has now concluded, and we look
forward to officially announcing our successful student leaders in this newsletter.
Alongside student achievements and activities, there has also been significant work taking
place behind the scenes as we prepare for the next academic year. Planning is already
underway for class organisation, induction programmes for new staff, whole school targets,
and future development priorities to ensure we continue moving forward as a school
community.
We are also proud to continue strengthening our links through FOBISIA and wider
international collaboration opportunities. Recent professional development and external
quality assurance work, including educational visits to China and Hong Kong, have provided
valuable opportunities to connect with other international schools, share best practices, and
continue enhancing the quality of teaching and learning at SISJ.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Ms Maryam Jazayeri,
Head of Secondary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
