Dear parents,
The tremendous strength of our community spirit has been on display this week with a number of events and activities ongoing. If you have had the chance to pop into our reception area you will see our magnificent kollam which was created by our PTA group and front of house team. If you have not seen the time-lapse video of this, you can find it on our facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/srikdusubangjaya/ a huge thankyou to all involved. We often say that the success of a child is a triad of work between students, school and parents. Increased parental involvement has been shown to result in increased student success, enhanced parent and teacher satisfaction, and improved school atmosphere. It is excellent to see so many parents supporting our events and getting involved in activities including sports, fundraising, workshops, volunteering and planning to name a few!
Our student community have also, alongside their studies this week worked hard to enhance our environment this week and have provided each other opportunities for additional laughter, games and learning in school. Our sixth form students, as part of their super curricular activities have run charity fundraising games and events and have raised a staggering amount of money for a childrens home of their choice (see the article below from Ms Yoges). Thank you to Mr Bruno, Mr Dawson and Ms Yoges who became targets for water balloons and to Mr Bentley for facilitating a charity football match this afternoon. A final congratulations to the year 11 Computer Science students who ran assembly today on Health Gaming. What may seem a controversial subject amongst many parents, guidance was given, by students on how to responsibly ‘game’. It is not an activity we should reasonably expect students not to do, however we can educate on how to moderately enjoy activities; a skill which can be employed in many areas of life.
Next week in school, we celebrate Divali, a festival which generally symbolises the victory of light over darkness. A special thank you to the families of Arvind and Sharanya who have sponsored our Diya sale in school allowing all proceeds to go to charity. If you have not collected your Diya, they are available from reception. There are limited stocks for further sale should you be interested. On Friday, we encourage all to wear traditional dress in celebration and look forward to the celebration assembly Ms Ann and the team are planning. We aim to stream this celebration to our parent community to ensure you don’t miss the precious opportunities to see your children perform while mitigating the risk of Covid in the community.
Finally, very good luck to all swimmers who compete in the 6th Novice Swim meet this weekend and congratulations to the primary basketball teams who had their first fixtures this week.
Have a lovely weekend,

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
