Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we move into the last week of term, I am conscious that we have had several cases
of Covid-19 and Influenza A in the school. As ever we will monitor the situation, but I
must ask all parents to support keeping the community safe by telling us if their child
is Covid positive or a close contact, and that is also the case for any Influenza cases.
There is NO current pattern in school but again please DO NOT send your child into
school if they are unwell with a high temperature or any usual symptoms of Covid-19
or Influenza.
I would like to say thank you to those parents who completed the parental survey that
closes at 5pm today. Sadly, we didn’t reach the 70% target this year but did improve
on last year. I will share the outcomes in January.
This week, we have had the Christmas library completion and the Hanfu online lessons.
Yesterday (Thursday) we had the Delischool webinar at 6:30pm, so thank you to those
who joined. I have included the PDF of the presentation and included a Mandarin
translation of the FAQs. I look forward to working with Delischool in the New Year. The
issue is that any meal plans must be bought for a term through the Vircle App at
RM16, otherwise meals will be bought a la carte at a price of RM18. Please ensure that
you have made your decision as SHF (Delischool) is already showing in the Vircle App.
Today we ran a parent’s session for the Cambridge Examinations for Years 6, 9 and Year
11. I will be sending the presentation with a cover email next week. Thank you to those
who attended. For those who didn’t attend, your child's statement of entry will be
handed out at the end of school today. Please do read the letter and return the
statement by 15 December at 4:00pm to reception. If you have any questions, I will be
available between appointments at the PTC.
Next week
We have the closing of the school for Term 1. Reports will go out to parents on
Wednesday, 13 December followed by the PTC on Thursday, 14 December and finally
on Friday the musical showcase, final assembly, and class parties will take place before
we close for the winter break. For the class parties, please ask the children to liaise with
each other to manage how much food is brought into school, so that it is not wasted
and to be mindful of any allergies in the class.
Parents' lanyards
As you are aware, we operate a parent lanyard system so that parents can enter easily
into the campus. There has been an upgrade to the system to monitor who is in the
building. Parents will simply need to tag on the black box at the bottom of the ramp
when they enter school.
To do this:
Existing parents with an old card will need to collect a blank chipped card and add it to their lanyard.
New parents will be issued a new card.
Please collect the cards from reception or during the PTC on Thursday.
PTC on Thursday, 14 December
I invite all parents to the PTC on Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The event will take
place in the MPH on a first-come, first-service basis. I look forward to seeing a many of
you as possible. If you are not able to attend, then please do reach out to us via email
to arrange another time.
I hope everyone has a restful and pleasant long weekend.
Regards,
April Peters
