Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing this after just awarding the first set of medals in the Primary Swimming
Gala. In comparison to last year - we are not dealing with HFMD, nor are the children
having to do swimming in the hot sun due to the new pool canopies that have been
installed. Thank you to those parents who could come along and support the event. I
am always humbled at these events, when I see the children supporting each other and
everyone trying their very best. Congratulations to the medal winners but very well done
to all nonetheless. Next Friday, we have the Secondary Swimming Gala, and I look
forward to an intense competition.
This week in Secondary we concluded the Year 9 taster sessions. I hope the tasters
were useful for the students, enabling them to make a more informed decision about
their elective IGCSE courses next year. This year, we have increased the number of
subjects on offer to include IGCSE Physical Education and IGCSE Enterprise.
Next week, we are hosting an Under-16 basketball tournament for international
schools, our first such event. I trust the event will go smoothly coordinated by Mr Hafiz
and his support team. I wish the Klang team a successful tournament.
As you are all aware the weather of late has been very hot, with some areas having
published heat warnings. It is forecasted by the Meteorological Office to expect hotter
weather in the Klang Valley in the days to come. We are currently monitoring the
temperature daily and will respond as per our heat management policy. Due to our
facilities, we can continue with many activities and normal timetabled lessons. We will
of course keep parents up to date of any operational changes or instructions from the
MOE.
REMINDERS:
Punctuality:
We appreciate that at times the journey to school can be delayed due to circumstance
beyond parental control and we allow for this is if there is an unusual jam. That said, I
am reminding parents that all students should be in their form or classroom at 8:45am
for class time or registration. This means arriving before 8:45am. During class or form
time, important notices are conveyed to the children. The register is taken, after which
telephone calls are made home if the child does not have a registration mark.
PE trainers
A reminder that when purchasing new sports shoes for your child, ensure that they are
not black – any colour other than black is permitted and the shoes must have a non-
marking sole. This will ensure the MPH floor is kept in good condition. No outside
shoes should be worn in the MPH for playing sports.
I wish everyone has a pleasant weekend.
