Dear Parents and Guardians,
I trust many of you had a pleasant Labour Day holiday. We started this week by
celebrating the achievements of our athletes who took part in the KL Sports League
Athletics Championship in assembly on Monday and expanding this to the benefits of
taking part in sports not only for fitness reasons but to build character in terms of
developing and demonstrating team spirit, resilience, social skills and leadership which
are all-important traits in the classroom and in the world of work.
The rest of the week was usual business across the school – looking ahead to end of
year examinations. Therefore, examination scopes will be shared with parents shortly.
The primary classrooms, however, were transformed into countries of the world, with
each class learning and sharing about the different countries in terms of culture, dress,
music and dance, etc. The finale of the event featured the children sharing their
learning, which was shared with parents in the MPH today. I was very impressed with
the way the children embraced the whole experience of 'dressing up" in country-related
clothes. For me, Egypt and South Korea really did go all out. A huge thank you to
parents who supported the event by decorating classrooms, supplying the ‘endless’
food, making costumes or coming into support their child in the sharing today.
The next couple of weeks will be busy with BM and Science weeks. On the 18th of May
we have the finale of the Technovation Challenge, and we are hosting another Open
Day. I am excited to announce that we have Ms. Vanmitha Athimoolam, the Founder of
WAU Rocketry in Universiti Sains Malaysia. She will be in school with the first
Malaysian space rocket, so please do drop by to see her and the rocket, which usually
resides in Penang.
Announcement: As the school has grown and is growing, as an organisation we feel
that now is the right time to formalise transporter arrangements to and from school.
From August 2024, the school will engage transporter services from our many different
feeder areas. Parents will be able to book a seat for their child through the application
form. I will share the transporter brochure and costs next week. The change is to
ensure we have approved and licensed transporters, and any of the existing
transporters will be able to become approved if they have the correct documentation.
I wish everyone a pleasant weekend.
April Peters
