Dear Parents and Guardians,
Monday's assembly was very busy with many prizes being awarded for Book Week across
the entire school. Form/Class prizes were also awarded for the different Eco Week activities
and a closing ceremony for both. A big well done and thank you to Mr. Syamsul for another
fantastic Book Week and to the School Council for a well-coordinated Eco Week. A great
collective endeavour to save power last week and become more planet aware!
The Bahasa Melayu Week opening ceremony, meanwhile, started with the whole school
singing the Negaraku and then reciting the Rukun Negara - The National Principles, as a
way to demonstrate and understand how important a national language is in bringing a
nation together.
This week, we had another visit from Mr. Thomas the incoming Principal. He spent the
morning observing lessons in the primary school and in the afternoon, he met with some
SLT members and then spoke to groups of children from primary and secondary, all in an
effort to learn more about the school before he joins in August.
Today, it was lovely to see so many of the children dressed in their traditional dress to
celebrate Bahasa Melayu and how the different ethnic groups embrace the national
language.
Next week, IGCSEs continue, and we start the week with the launching of Science Week, this
year the theme is Agricultural Science. I am looking forward to what the week will bring.
Next weekend, we have the finale of the Technovation Challenge alongside another Open
Day, and I am very much looking forward to the day and celebrating the ideas on show.
