School Vision: To be a vibrant, future-minded, international community of safe,
happy, and successful learners.
Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
It was a wonderful end to an action-packed half term with the vibrant display of our
student body’s talents at our annual Deepavali assembly. We enjoyed performances from
across the age range with colourful fashion shows, traditional music and energetic dances.
Earlier in the week, we took delivery of a piano for students to play in Academic Street. I
have enjoyed listening to our talented performers each break and lunch.
Thank you to Delischool for another delicious offering at our Deepavali-themed lunch on
Thursday with traditional menu featuring delicacies such as chicken biryani, biryani rice and
vegetarian tofu butter masala, fried bitter gourd with steamed rice along with themed
decorations.
Parents and Guardians Association
Here are the minutes from our most recent Parents and Guardians Association Committee

Alumni Association
We are keen to establish our Alumni contact list so that we can start thinking about Alumni
events for later in the year. Could those who have ex-Sri KDU pupils in their families kindly
share this link to assist with the establishment of our Alumni database?

Illnesses
We have seen a rise in cases of sickness amongst our students and staff, mainly in the form
of colds and flu. Although we want everyone to come to school every day, we do
understand that if a child is unwell, particularly with viruses that can be spread, they will
need to stay home for a day or two.
Although we have no reported cases of food poisoning in the school, we would also like to
re-share the form to be used to report any suspected cases. Returning the form to the
school as soon as a potential case is identified will allow the cafeteria team to test food
samples and thoroughly investigate cases.
Congratulations to our badminton players who demonstrated outstanding skills in their
badminton fixture as we hosted SJKC Pin Hwa 1 and Tenby Setia Eco Park to play against
our under 12 and under 15 teams respectively. I am particularly keen to see the expansion
of competitive sports and especially to host more competitions at our wonderful facilities.
We will share further details in advance of events in case parents wish to attend. As we
enter the school break, I would like to wish our entire community a joyous Deepavali
holiday.
Regards,
Rhys Thomas
