Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
We are once again gearing up for a wonderful cultural celebration at Sri KDU Klang. We
are extremely grateful for the huge support given by our community to the Christmas
and Deepavali celebrations and look forward to seeing you at next Friday’s events.
Friday will also be a Chinese dress day where we encourage all students, staff and even
parents to come in traditional Chinese costumes or to wear as much red as possible.
For our students, there are events throughout the week with a wonderful programme
put in place by Mr. Yong and our fantastic Mandarin teaching team. One highlight will
be the launch of our Mandarin-speaking competition which will culminate in a cross-
XCL Malaysia final hosted here at Sri KDU Klang on the 14th of March.
PGA Coffee Morning
Our Term 2 Parents’ and Guardians’ Association coffee morning is scheduled for
Wednesday, January 22nd at 9 am. This meeting will be used to discuss the feedback
from the December Parents Survey and the recent Curriculum Survey.
Swimming
It was disappointing to see many students opting out of swimming this week. We are
reviewing the provision with the help of students to determine the root cause, and as a
starting point we will start to track which students swim and which do not, lesson by
lesson from Monday.
We request that parents provide their children with a note if their child is well enough to
be in school but too unwell to swim, otherwise, all children from Year 1 and above will
be expected to participate fully in the curriculum. Once the tracking is in place we will,
of course, also inform parents should their child have refused, without parental
consent, to swim on any given day.
Parent Survey Feedback
Thank you for taking the time to complete our Term 1 Parent Survey. We have read and
discussed every one of your thoughtful comments, which have been compiled along
with our responses and next steps as attached in this link.
Chinese New Year Delischool Parent and Child Cooking Master Class
Following the success of the Christmas parent-child baking class, along with Delischool
we would once again like to invite you to register to join us in the culinary lab on Friday,
January 24th from 9 am. Please register using the link as follows:
