invigorating – or restful – Malaysia Day long weekend.

SIKG Boarding House Construction Stakeholder Meeting: 19th September
There will be a stakeholder meeting for parents to learn more about the construction of our new boarding house on Friday, September 19th at 12.30 pm, in the school library. Representatives from the project managers Zense Resources will attend the meeting to answer parents’ questions about the construction.
Advanced Notice: Parent Teacher Conference – October 14th
As listed in the school’s parent calendar, the Term 1 Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) will be held earlier than usual, on the 14th of October. The change from previous years is a response to feedback received via our Parent Curriculum Survey last year that told us that many families did not understand the mid-term grade reports and needed conversations with teachers to aid in understanding their children’s progress and get to know the teachers.
By the time the Term 1 report is published in December, a full PTC will not be necessary as strong links will have been formed between teachers and parents, and reports will be well understood. As always, parents will still be able to request an individual appointment with any teacher at any point in the school year.
Please note that there will be no lessons or school-led supervision during the PTCs on October 14th. The teaching day is counted for elsewhere in the school calendar.
Regards,
Rhys Thomas,
Campus Principal
