Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
With the school weeks returning to a semblance of normality following the
many public holidays that accompany the start of the school year, I continue
to be inspired by the energy, curiosity, and resilience our students bring to
campus each day. Please see below for our notices to families and enjoy
this week’s updates from our students and teachers.
Farewell Mr. Gobi
It is with sadness this afternoon that we said farewell to Mr. Gobi, Head of Bahasa Malaysia. Mr. Gobi has been a dedicated servant of the school since its inception. Mr. Gobi has given Sri KDU Klang a huge amount of commitment and passion during his five years here. Beyond his teaching, Mr. Gobi took on responsibility for leading his department, leading Griffin House and leading the school’s Public Speaking and Debating enrichment activities. Good luck with your next adventure, Mr. Gobi!
Welcome Ms. Noor Nadiah Mohamad – Head of Bahasa Malaysia
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Nadiah, who joins us this week as our new Head of Bahasa Malaysia. Ms. Nadiah spent time meeting her classes and working with Mr. Gobi to ensure a smooth handover.
Congratulations, Ms. Alison Wadsley– New Head of Grifin House
Congratulations to Ms. Wadsley, who has taken over the reins of leading Griffin House. We look forward to seeing how her energy and enthusiasm can push the yellows towards future success.
Reminder: Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) Day– October 14th
Our PTC Day is on October 14th. For new parents, please note that the format of the day means that there are no lessons. Children should come only with their parents to their meetings with teachers. Primary class teachers will contact parents to arrange appointments. Secondary teachers will be available in the MPH throughout the day and can be seen on a drop- in basis. Primary specialists will also be available in the MPH for drop-in conversations.
Library Reminder: Overdue Books & Borrowing Policy
We would like to remind everyone about our library’s borrowing policy to ensure all students have equal access to our resources: Students may borrow up to 4 books for a period of 7 days (excluding weekend’s, public holidays, and school holidays). Books that are not returned on time will incur a fine of RM0.10 per day. If a student needs more time, books can be renewed before the due date
to avoid fines. Overdue reminders will be sent to the student’s school email. We kindly encourage students to return or renew their books on time so that others may also benefit from our collection.
Regards,
Rhys Thomas,
Campus Principal
