Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
It was a joy to welcome our students back this week. There is wonderful energy around
the school and a feeling that we are close to achieving the ‘vibrancy’ that we aim for in our
school vision. As well as welcoming our returning students, we enjoyed meeting our new
children, who helped take our enrolment over the 300-mark and added a real buzz to the
cafeteria on Monday morning.
Prefects’ Inauguration Ceremony
We started the week with an opening assembly, and it was my privilege to present our
new Head Girl, Stella and Head Boy, Kyle, with their certificates of appointment, along with
those of their fellow prefects. Valerie (Year 10) and Owen (Year 11) were appointed
Deputy Head Girl and Boy, respectively. Congratulations to all our prefects; you took your
oath with pride, and we know that the school will, in turn, be proud of the way you
represent the student body.
IGCSE Results
We celebrated our IGCSE results on Tuesday. Congratulations to all of last year’s Year 11.
Here are the result headlines:
Plus, we would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our IGCSE 2024-2025 top
scorers, Vincent, Angel, Swen, Ilakiyen, Yung Meng, Isabelle and Jayson (in no particular
order) for their brilliant results! We are very proud of their achievements indeed, and as for
the rest of the 2024-2025 Year 11 cohort, well done to you too, for your results.
We hope that each one of you will take with you the lessons you have learnt with us in the
school, and go on to achieve fantastic things in the future ahead. Our school doors will
always be open for you to come back for a visit and to reminisce on your time here!
Fire Drill
On Thursday, we had our first fire drill of the academic year and what made this
newsworthy is that we have moved our evacuation spot from the school field to the
compound outside the school's gates due to the construction work that is ongoing at the
field area.
As always, our school community reacted in a prompt and orderly manner when they
heard the alarm going off. There was a very light drizzle of rain but that did not stop the
drill from being declared a success before we were dismissed to resume studies and work.
Primary Playground
Our Primary school playground opened for business this week – wonderful to see so many
smiling faces getting a good workout!
2024-25 Yearbook
Memories are priceless – apart from those in our annual yearbook, which is available for
purchase from the main reception at the price of RM40 each.
2025/26 Term 1 Invoices
Thank you to those who have paid the 2025-26 school fee invoices. For those who have
yet to complete payment, thank you for doing so at your earliest convenience this coming
week.
2025/26 Parents’ and Guardians’ Association (PGA) Full Meeting
Thank you to those who joined us today for our first PGA meeting of the year. We are now
seeking new members to join the PGA committee. If you are interested in being more
involved in supporting the running of the school, please drop us an email at
