Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
It’s been a short week of school, bookended by the two public holidays of Merdeka Day and the
Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday. In between, we have had a lively Merdeka Assembly as well as our
Primary Student Council elections. Congratulations to all appointed student leaders. We are very
proud of you and look forward to your contribution to the school this year.
Overdue Term 1 fees
Thank you to the vast majority of parents who have paid their Term 1 school fees. For those who
have yet to do so, please visit the school to make your payment on Monday as a matter of urgency.
Next week, we will need to start the process of issuing barring letters in relation to overdue fees.
Please help us to avoid any interruption to the learning of any children.
Staff Departure – Mr. Steve Coates
We have, regrettably, this week been informed that Mr. Steve Coates will not be returning to
Malaysia. Mr. Coates has cited his own and his family’s health as his reasons for returning to the UK.
While this news is unexpected and a great disappointment to us, Mr. Faizal has been doing a
wonderful job of teaching PE in Mr. Coates’ absence, and we will now begin the process of recruiting
a new PE teacher to join the school as soon as possible.
