Dear Parents,
As we begin this new academic year, I am delighted to share some key highlights that
reflect our growth and continued commitment to excellence; it was a pleasure to see so
many parents this morning for coffee where these highlights were also shared.
Our staffing has grown this year from 123 to 147 persons both academic and
administrative, ensuring that we can continue to meet the needs of our expanding
community. We have been proud to grow while maintaining a stable, experienced team
that is balanced evenly between local and expatriate colleagues. With the growth in our
student population comes opportunities to further enhance our provision. This growth has
enabled the full opening of all secondary classrooms and the enhancement of particularly
IGCSE subject options.
Our mission remains clear: to ensure that every student is safe, happy, and successful. This
mission is lived out through our five promises, which guide everything we do.
Top Academic Outcomes – We are delighted with the continued strength of our academic
results highlighted this past week. At A Level, 55% of grades were awarded at A*–A and at
IGCSE, our students achieved 52% A*–A and 94% A*–C, significantly above UK averages
(standing at 28.2 A*-A A level and 67.4% A*-C at IGCSE). Beyond this, 100% of our
graduating students received offers from their first-choice universities, including prestigious
institutions such as UCL, the University of Manchester, and the University of Sydney. These
results reflect not only the commitment of our students, but also the dedication and
expertise of our staff.
Holistic Character Development – Our growing student body is already benefitting from
expanded facilities that encourage creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. The newly
opened music rooms and dance studio provide exciting opportunities for enrichment, while
our wide range of co-curricular programmes continues to support students in developing
confidence, resilience, and teamwork. We launched 201 CCAs this week with 1460 slots
being taken within the first 30minutes. We look forward to seeing children taking these
opportunities next week when CCAs begin.
Continuous Improvement – The launch of our new structured day has been a success,
supporting a smooth start to term across the school with many of our younger children
noticing and benefiting from the longer play and lunch times. We started the year in the
Secondary school with ice breaker activities and dedicated form sessions to prioritise
relationship development which too has received excellent feedback from students. As with
the beginning of each academic year, there are inevitably some refinements to make,
particularly in relation to setting in the secondary school, but we anticipate these
adjustments will be fully settled by Monday. We remain committed to reviewing, refining,
and strengthening all that we do to ensure the very best for our students.
Welfare and Safeguarding – The wellbeing of our students is always at the heart of our
decisions. This year we have been particularly pleased to welcome our new boarders into
the community. They have settled quickly into routines, building friendships and adapting
with confidence to their new environment. Supported by our caring boarding staff, they are
already thriving. It is a pleasure to have them as part of our community.
Future-Proof Preparation – More than ever, our focus is on equipping students for life
beyond school. Whether it is university placements, innovative learning spaces, or
opportunities to explore independence and leadership, we are committed to preparing
young people for an uncertain but exciting future. By nurturing adaptability, creativity, and
resilience, we ensure our students are ready not only for the next stage of their education
but also for the world beyond.
Finally, we would like to thank all parents for their patience and understanding during what
we recognise has been a busy start, particularly at the end of the school day with traffic
flow. We are pleased to confirm that the launch of the CCAS next week will significantly
ease congestion and improve daily routines.
Together, with your support, we continue to build a thriving community where our students flourish academically, socially, and personally.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs. Cassie Fleming,
Principal,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
