Dear Parents,
Safeguarding remains at the heart of everything we do; we work to inspire a community of
safe, happy and successful learners. A key part of our safeguarding is our approach to crisis
management. While no school can ever be fully ready for every eventuality, we can prepare
by running simulations and conducting case reviews that allow us to practise a calm and
measured response without the inevitable emotion of a real event. This readiness ensures
that when challenges arise, our students and staff remain safe, and the school community is
well supported. This week, myself, Maryam and Marianne had the opportunity to attend
crisis management training to ensure we remain proactive in these areas rather than having
to be entirely reactive. Ongoing training and development is crucial in maintaining our
promise to you of continuous improvement and investment of staff in these areas is vital
for our ongoing progress. Although we hope never to have to respond to crises and we
mitigate as much risk as possible, being ready is one way we can be proactive in keeping
our community safe.
In line with our continuous improvement, you will know that we have spotlighted the
achievements and contributions of our students for sometime now within our community,
this is vital to ensure we work to build confidence, self esteem and create a sense of
belonging. It also teaches the value of effort as well as outcome, it motivates continuous
growth and reinforces positive behaviours. From this week we are extending this
recognition to staff too. This has traditionally been done within the building only, however,
we think it is important to celebrate achievements with you, our parent community too.
Each week, we will be celebrating “staff heroes”. This reflects our belief that a strong
community is built by valuing everyone’s role within it and allows us to continue to build a
positive culture. You will find our first nominations below for this week.
Looking ahead to next week, we will be carrying out the PASS (Pupil Attitudes to Self and
School) survey next week. This important tool allows us to hear directly from our students,
ensuring their voices help shape the support we provide. Their feedback will guide us in
making sure our wellbeing provision remains responsive, relevant, and meaningful to their
needs.
Thank you, as always, for your trust and partnership. Together, we continue to build a safe,
supportive, and thriving school community.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Cassie Fleming,
Principal,

SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
