Dear Families,
The start of a new calendar year often brings with it a sense of renewal. Across cultures and
centuries, the New Year has symbolised fresh beginnings — a time to reflect, reset and
recommit to what matters most. While personal resolutions may focus on health, habits or
balance, as a school community we, too, use this moment to reaffirm our shared priorities
and intentions.
Our mission remains to empower a community of safe, happy and successful learners and
our promises remain: top academic outcomes, uncompromising welfare and
safeguarding, holistic character development, continuous improvement, and future-
proof preparation for life beyond school. These are not abstract ideals — they are the
standards against which we measure our daily decisions and actions.
This first week of term has already reflected this commitment in action. We have
successfully completed a whole-school fire drill to ensure preparedness and safety, with all
children accounted for in under 4 minutes from the sounding of the alarm. We launched
our Co-Curricular Activities programme on Monday with approximately 1,900 student
places filled, and have navigated a major systems migration under our promise of
continuous improvement. While there have, understandably, been some teething issues
with this migration, our focus throughout has been on minimising disruption to teaching
and learning, and we have seen some wonderful examples of adaptability and resilience
from both staff and students. This morning Ms Clare also, in response to parent voice in
our XCL survey, spoke to the community about our academic support to ensure Top
Academic Outcomes.
Next week, we look to International Week; a week which is amongst the communities
favourite in the year for its vibrancy, team work and cooperation with and from parents and
for the opportunity to understand a little better our place in the World. Thank you in
advance for the significant parental support which goes into this event annually. For new
parents this week, we are confident this event will be a wonderful celebration of our diverse
community and give you an insight into the relationships between school and home.
I hope you have a restful weekend,
Mrs Cassie Fleming,
Principal,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
