Dear Parents and Families,
As we move towards the end of a busy and successful academic year, this week has given
us a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate. At Graduation today, we spoke
about achievement, kindness, progress and resilience — themes that sit at the heart of
what we want for every student. Success is rarely a straight line. It is built through
perseverance, character, support and the confidence to keep moving forward, even when
things are challenging. These are the qualities we see developing in our students every day.
We are so proud of our graduating students today and it, as always, was such a privilege to
end our ceremony with a formal walk through of the secondary building; all students came
out of lessons to formally congratulate our graduates and wish them well as they
ceremonially exited this phase of their education.
Our mission of being a safe, happy and successful school continues to guide our work. A
safe school gives students the confidence to take risks and grow. A happy school creates
belonging, friendship and a genuine sense of community. A successful school helps every
child make progress, achieve well and prepare for the next stage of their journey with
confidence.
This year has been one of significant growth for the school. We have seen continued
improvement in outcomes, wider university and careers opportunities, further development
in music and the arts, more opportunities through trips and enrichment, and cultural
celebrations that have brought our community together in such a positive way. It has been
a year in which the school has continued to move forward with purpose and ambition. I
would like to thank parents for the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received so
far through the Parent Survey. The recognition of individual teachers has been especially
warmly received, and has been shared directly with each. Our staff care deeply about the
children they teach, and it means a great deal to see that care, commitment and
professionalism recognised by families. The survey remains open, and I would encourage all
parents to continue completing it so that we have the fullest possible picture of what is
working well and where we can continue to improve. Please remember only a score of 9 or
10 shows you are happy with the school. You will find the link here: Parent Survey
As part of our ongoing development, and in line with both our strategic planning and the
feedback already highlighted through the survey, I am pleased to share we will be
increasing the number of formal reports next year from three to five. This will help parents
feel more closely connected to their child’s progress throughout the year. We will also
introduce optional parent evenings for all Secondary year groups each term, giving families
more regular opportunities to meet with teachers, discuss progress and strengthen the
partnership between home and school. We think this will be warmly recieved and know
how important the bonds need to be between home and school.
We are proud to celebrate our strongest ever staff retention this year going into next. This
is important because stability in staffing directly supports consistency, relationships and
school culture. The majority of our recruitment for next year has therefore been linked to
school growth rather than replacement. This reflects the positive direction of the school and
the confidence we have in the team already in place. I am thrilled to congratulate Marianne
Konhaeuser on her promotion to Interim Head of Primary and Sheena on her promotion to
Deputy Head of Primary, with additional responsibility for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
across the school. Both are committed, thoughtful and highly respected colleagues, and
their leadership will further strengthen the Primary School and our wider community.
Looking ahead, we will also be welcoming a dedicated Careers and University Guidance
Counsellor to strengthen our provision for students as they consider future pathways,
subject choices, applications and opportunities beyond school. This is a huge step forwards
in our Future Proof Preparation promise we make to you and will continue the excellent
work which has been ongoing to date. In addition next year to support our development,
we are appointing an additional member of the PE department, allowing us to further
support sport, physical education and the wider development of healthy, active students -
something also shared in the parent survey.
Thank you, as always, for your continued trust, feedback and support. As we look towards
next year, we do so with confidence, ambition and a clear commitment to ensuring every
child is safe, happy and successful. Congratulations once again to our graduates today, we
are so proud of you.
Warm regards,
Mrs Cassie Fleming,
Principal
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
