Dear Parents
As we near the end of the academic year, we reflect on an eventful term filled with a variety
of enriching activities and events. This term, our community has enjoyed the KS3 Show and
Tell, Inclusion Week, Spirit Week, the International Fair, the school production, the Y6
transition to secondary school, A-level taster weeks, and the Y6, Y7, and Y8 residential trips.
Our calendar remains busy with more exciting events on the horizon. Sports Week
commenced today with a Walkathon and will continue throughout next week. We will also
honor our graduating students in Y6, Y11, and Y13 with formal ceremonies, to which
parents and families are cordially invited. Additionally, we eagerly anticipate our Arts
Festival and the Y7-10 Dance Gala, both scheduled for the final week of school.
This week has been particularly significant for our Y6 students. They spent their first two full
days in secondary school, experiencing the new environment and navigating the building.
Their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we eagerly look forward to
welcoming them to secondary school next academic year. After their two-day transition,
they embarked on an exciting three-day, two-night residential trip, which I am sure you will
be hearing much about very soon.
Our Y11 students are nearing the completion of their exams, and we hope they will soon
enjoy a well-deserved, more relaxed summer break. This week marked the commencement
of our A-level taster week for Y11 students, providing them with the opportunity to
participate in taster sessions and gain insights into our A-level offerings at Sri KDU, Subang
Jaya. Next Thursday, we will host the Y11 and Y13 graduation ceremony, where we will
celebrate their outstanding achievements.
One of the highlights of this week was our medieval carnival. Our Y7 students organized a
remarkable event, showcasing their learnings about medieval times from their history
classes. They donned medieval costumes and armor, participated in sword fights, and set
up stalls to sell medieval-themed items, creating an immersive and educational experience
for all.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our school community.
Together, we are fostering a nurturing and dynamic environment where every student can
thrive.
Have a lovely weekend,
Maryam Jazayeri,
Deputy Head of Secondary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
