Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome Back!
Happy New Year and a warm welcome back to school! It feels like time has flown since I last
wrote to you on Monday, and it’s incredible to see how much we’ve accomplished in just
one week!
The school has been a hive of activity, starting bright and early at 6:30 a.m. on Monday with
CCAs, with learning underway immediately in classrooms as expected. Students and
teachers jumped straight into new projects and challenges with enthusiasm. On
Wednesday, our Year 3 students embarked on an exciting trip that brought learning to life
beyond the classroom, while this afternoon, Year 11 students took part in a "Chat and Dash"
session providing them with the opportunity to set goals, reflect on their aspirations, and
learn more about our A Level programme for the year ahead. In the secondary school, our
Star Reader and Renaissance initiatives have renewed our focus on literacy this week,
inspiring students to explore the joy of reading. Meanwhile, our A Level Computer Science
students showcased their leadership by delivering a meaningful online safety assembly,
emphasising the importance of staying safe in the digital world—a topic that resonates with
us all. We also celebrated Year 6C's confidence during their drama performance in assembly
today and recognized those students who participated in the FOBISIA short story writing
competition last term.
It has been wonderful to welcome new families into our community this week. Seeing the
warm connections already forming is a testament to the supportive and inclusive
environment we value so deeply. This morning, we shared with the community that our
strong relationships with families were a key commendation in our COBIS report following
their visit during Term 1—a reflection of the close partnership we strive to maintain.
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited to introduce IGCSE core subjects to Year 9
parents. For the entire school community, we have documented below the significant
support available to Year 9 students as they enter this crucial period of selecting their IGCSE
options. It is often only when your child reaches this stage that you fully realize the breadth
of support available. We aim to ensure parents feel confident and informed about their
child’s educational pathways from an early stage, knowing what is in place for years to
come.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support in making our school a vibrant, inspiring,
and caring place for everyone. Here’s to a fantastic term filled with learning, achievements,
and shared success!
Have a lovely weekend,
Cassie Fleming,
Principal,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
