Dear Parents,
You may or not be aware that today is Teachers' Day in Malaysia. I would like to wish a
happy day to all in Malaysia who have chosen their careers wisely - although some teachers
may not believe so, I can assure them, with some degree of certainty, that there is no better
job!
I hope parents, students and other community members can see the amazing amount of
effort that our Sri KDU Subang Jaya teachers and staff put into each and every day to make
it memorable and meaningful for our students. In my many years of teaching, I have never
ceased to be amazed by the time, energy and dedication put in by those who have opted
to work with children. This has been exemplified by the hardworking team who have helped
to put together our Shrek performance this week. I would also like to take this opportunity
to thank our community volunteers, without whom we would not be able to put on such a
dazzling production.
As parents, we are aware of the extra effort that people put into helping children. Although
children can seem to take this for granted at times, I think they appreciate what we do for
them in the same way that we can often fondly recall an adult who went the extra mile for
us when we were younger. There is nothing more heartwarming than to receive recognition
from students and I was pleased to see lots of teachers' day gifts and cards around school
today. I know how highly our students think of our staff. Although I don't have my own
class this year, I would like to give a shout out to the students who were kind enough to
seek me out and say thank you. I received some lovely handmade cards from students who
have used their own time and energy to make something for me as a way of saying thank
you. What a great example to set to those of us who, as adults, often find an excuse rather
than try to find some time to make the effort.
These small acts of kindness and gratitude can make a huge difference to how someone is
feeling. When was the last time you used a little time and energy to show someone how
much you appreciate them? In the coming week, why not take the time to go out of your
way to express gratitude? You might just make someone's day.
On behalf of all of us here at Sri KDU Subang Jaya, I would like to wish you a contemplative
weekend.
Have a lovely weekend,
Simon Greenhalgh,
Deputy Head of Primary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
