Dear Families,
At the heart of any strong school is a strong sense of community, and community is built through partnership. The best outcomes for children are always achieved when school, parents, and students work together with trust, openness, and a shared sense of purpose. Each has a vital role to play. As a school, our responsibility is to provide high-quality teaching, care, guidance, and opportunity. Parents bring the knowledge, support, and encouragement that shape children’s attitudes, values, and confidence. Students themselves are central to this partnership, and thrive most when they feel supported both at school and at home, with the adults around them working together in their best interests.
A strong community is strengthened through communication, involvement, and a willingness to listen to one another. We know that when parents feel connected to school life, children benefit. When children see positive partnership between home and school, they feel more secure, more motivated, and more confident in their learning. Equally, when schools create meaningful opportunities for engagement, families are better able to understand, support, and contribute to their child’s experience. This is why we are keen to continue developing ways for parents to engage more actively with the life of the school, including this morning, the launch of a new Friday coffee morning format; hosted today by our Schools Advisory Board. From this meeting, it is clear parents would like alternative ways of providing us feedback. Therefore, we are pleased to launch a new feedback mechanism to make it easier for parents to celebrate what is working well, suggest ideas, and share constructive feedback. This is an important part of how we continue to improve together. Strong schools do not stand still; they evolve through reflection, collaboration, and small thoughtful refinements made over time. We are committed to that process and to building a culture where parents, staff, and students all feel they have a voice in helping the school move forward. This week of celebration has reflected our community spirit particularly well. Our Hari Raya celebrations were not only a joyful and meaningful way to recognise an important occasion within our community, but also an example of how schools help children learn through shared experience, cultural understanding, and collective celebration. My thanks go to our staff for the work that went into creating such a warm and inclusive event, and to our students for the pride, enthusiasm, and confidence they brought to their showcases and performances. Finally, thank you to our PTA for their tireless work in supporting today’s Open House. Days like today are a reminder that a school is strongest when it works as a genuine partnership, with parents, staff, and children learning, celebrating, and growing together.
Warm regards,
Mrs Cassie Fleming,
Principal,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
