Dear Parents
Welcome back to our school community! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful half-term
break and had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. As a
family, we chose to spend much of our break indoors, not only because of the haze, but
also because we felt it was important to slow down and switch off from our usual
routines. Sometimes, taking a step back gives us the chance to recognise all the
wonderful things happening around us. I hope you were able to find some of those
moments too.
It has been great to welcome everyone back this week and to see our students
returning refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead. For our secondary students, end-of-
term assessments begin this Friday and will continue over the next two weeks. We
hope students have used their time to prepare and feel ready to approach their
assessments positively. Equally, we want to remind everyone that these assessments
should not be a source of stress or pressure. It represents an important opportunity for
teachers to understand where each student is currently working, celebrate what they
have learned and identify areas where further support may be needed. The aim is not
simply to achieve a particular grade but to use the information gathered to inform
teaching and help our students make progress.
Another exciting development has been the successful launch of the revamped
MYLeader programme across the whole school, from our young learners in Year 1 right
through to our Sixth Form students. Our first coaching sessions have taken place, and
we look forward to seeing how these conversations and relationships help every student
grow in confidence, develop their strengths and discover their potential. At the heart of
MYLeader is a simple but powerful belief: leadership is not reserved for a select few
students. It is a capability that every child can develop.
Finally, as the haze continues to affect our region, please do take care of yourselves and
your families. We hope everyone is following the appropriate health advice and taking
sensible precautions when needed. Hopefully, the conditions will improve soon and we
can all enjoy clearer skies in the days ahead.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mr Oli Marecar,
Head of Academics,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
My son loves Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya. He enjoys good quality teachers who build his self-confidence and motivation. He is immersed in daily exchange of best practices with his fellow classmates. His learning is not confined to the classroom as lessons include physical education where various types of sports are available. Above all, his friends and classmates here are able to collaborate positively to bring out the best in one another.
We cannot possibly itemise every single reason he loves it here but this school is now his second home – and that is saying a lot!
