Dear Parents,
As Martin Luther Ling said, “All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance.” As
we mark Labour Day, we take this opportunity to pause, reflect, and express our deepest
gratitude to the dedicated individuals who keep our school running smoothly each and
every day. Running any school is logistically complex, with many facets involved in
ensuring our teachers and students can conduct the core business of learning and teaching
each day. Behind the scenes, our operations team, security staff, and administration staff
work tirelessly to ensure our campus is safe, welcoming, and efficient for every child, every
family, and every member of our community. Our operations team, led by Mr Raja ensure
that classrooms are ready, facilities are maintained, and that the environment is clean and
conducive to learning. The team must be responsive to every situation and in a school as
big as Sri KDU, these situations are extremely varied, especially in the humid, wet conditions
in Subang Jaya. Their efforts often begin before the school day starts and continue long
after the final bell. Weekend updates from the operations team to the school leaders are
well-received, as we know we can confidently enter school on Monday morning and be
ready for our students to learn. Our security staff are the ‘guardians of our gates’. With
professionalism and kindness, they keep our community safe, model respectful interactions,
and serve as familiar, reassuring faces for all who arrive each morning. Whatever the time
of the day, early morning, or late afternoon, I am always impressed by their friendly
greetings and their total commitment to their role in keeping the Sri KDU community safe.
Our administration teams, led by Miss Arvindar and Miss Nina, keeps the heart of the
school beating steadily. From managing enrolment and timetables to coordinating events
and supporting families, their commitment to organisation and service ensures that
learning can thrive. As those of you have visited our school reception will know, our
frontline staff have many queries and requests every day and we hope, like me, you find
them always helpful, proactive and supportive in all their interactions. They also work long
hours, including evenings and weekends, dedicated to giving our families everything they
need to support their children’s futures.
These teams are central to our commitment to Welfare and Safeguarding—one of our
school's core promises. Through their vigilance, care, and consistency, they help create the
secure and nurturing environment that every child needs to learn and grow.
This Labour Day, we say thank you—for the dedication, dignity, and quiet leadership you
bring to our school community.
Your work matters. Your presence matters. And you are deeply appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend,
David Wilcock,
Vice Principal and Head of Primary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
My son loves Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya. He enjoys good quality teachers who build his self-confidence and motivation. He is immersed in daily exchange of best practices with his fellow classmates. His learning is not confined to the classroom as lessons include physical education where various types of sports are available. Above all, his friends and classmates here are able to collaborate positively to bring out the best in one another.
We cannot possibly itemise every single reason he loves it here but this school is now his second home – and that is saying a lot!
