Dear Parents and Guardians,
We started the week with the closing of the BM week, with competition winners receiving their prizes. These special weeks are important to any school but weeks that celebrate the home country are more valued as we wish to promote a sense of pride and celebrate all aspects of the home nation including all languages, the national language especially. Well done to all those taking part and to the BM Team: Mr Gobi, Ms Adibah and Ms Ibtisam. Next week, we finish the half term with the debate finals.

Important information
Draft Calendar: Attached to this Newsletter is the draft of next year’s calendar. This will hopefully allow you to take advantage of the current flight offers if you so wish. There are some dates to be released by Cambridge and additional dates to add once all the Sri KDU Schools calendars are confirmed.
Site safety. This week, those collecting students will probably have noticed a private vendor selling ice cream near gate B. In order to keep the children safe as possible we monitor the children leaving closely – Students are either collected by parents at the gate or are released to get into parental cars. In order to maintain this supervision, we cannot have children leaving the site to buy ice creams. Therefore, the buying of ice cream is under parental control once the kid leaves the site. Please note, waiting in the fast lane for your child to buy an ice cream would be wholly inappropriate and disrespectful to the rest of the community.
Wet weather signal to come onto campus.
On days when we open the gate due to heavy rain the new light as shown above will be GREEN, to signal to parents that gate A is open. Once on site, please do not stop for pick up on the crossing and follow instruction to move to the sheltered pickup area (around the corner). Thank you for your cooperation.
End of Year Examinations
The end of year examinations will be held from June 12th to June 21st, 2023.
These exams mark an important milestone in our students' academic journey, allowing them to showcase their knowledge and skills gained throughout the year. The exam scopes have been sent for your kind attention. A detailed timetable outlining the examination schedule, subjects, and timings will be provided to students in the coming week.
Kindly review the timetable with your child to ensure they are well-prepared and aware of the dates and times of their respective exams.
Encourage your child to begin their revision early and establish a consistent study routine. Revisiting key concepts, practicing past papers, and seeking clarification on any doubts will greatly benefit their preparation.
Regular attendance and punctuality are of utmost importance during the examination period. Ensure your child arrives at school on time, well-rested, and ready to perform their best. Familiarise yourself and your child with the examination regulations, which will be shared with students prior to the exams. Adhering to these guidelines ensures fairness and integrity throughout the examination process.
Thank you for your continuous support in your child's education.
Parental survey 2023
We will be sending the parental survey out next week and the window runs from 1st June to 15th June to accommodate the holiday. We take the results of the survey seriously and hope that parents can support us by completing the survey thinking about the whole year and your child’s experience with us from September, or when they joined the school, to the date of the survey. The survey is not to capture singular incidents that have previously concerned you and that have already been dealt with. This is the total experience for the child, do they feel happy, safe please etc. We thank you in advance for completing this survey.
Up and coming dates:
Agong’s Birthday: Monday 5th June
Mid-term break: Monday 5th to Friday 9th June
End of IGCSEs: Thursday 8th June
Return to school: Monday 12th June.
Regards,
April Peters
