Dear Parent and Guardians,
I write this from the Klang Stadium, with balloons popping as part of the parents and
teachers’ tele-match. Thank you to those parents who took part.
A huge thank you to all involved in making the event such a success. As ever, excellent
emceeing skills from Ms. Azreena and Mr. Suman. Ms. Azreena was on form, or not,
with her puns this year. The competition between the houses was fierce from the very
start, with the Primary students so determined to do their very best and the Secondary
students worked hard to keep their house team motivated. But let us not forget: win or
lose, the journey is the most important. Participation is key to a happy and successful
life. The results are below with Code Squad - Yellow house retaining the House
Champion Crowns! A full writeup with detailed results will be published in next week's
newsletter.
Last weekend, we had a really successful Secondary leadership in Janda Baik. The raft-
building and water trekking certainly took some of our students out of their comfort
zones! It was great to see self-leadership and group leadership in action. Well done to
the group leaders, the new prefectorial board leaders, the teachers: Mr Chang, Ms.
Tham and Mr. Narish for their support and to all whom I am sure learnt valuable
lessons about themselves over the 2-days-1-night experience.
This week was full of sports day practice. A big thank you to everyone who supported
the event with planning, rehearsing, coordinating, organising, supporting, and
supervising. A great job to Mr. Hafiz and his team members.
Next week:
Move to new cafeteria operator in January 2024: Delischool with a webinar on 7th
December at 6:30pm.
As already informed, we will be moving to a new cafeteria operator in January 2024. In
order to give more people the opportunity to be introduced to Delischool and explain
how the process will work through Vircle, there will be a webinar on Thursday 7th
December at 6.30pm. The link will be shared on Monday, and at the moment we are
waiting for final confirmation. The way that meals are ordered through Delischool
will be different to the current system, so I do urge all parents to attend. Vircle will
also be on the webinar to assist the switch over to Delischool for ordering.
Parental Survey - 27th November to 8th December
The survey is open and will close next Friday, 8th December. Thank you to those who
have already responded. For those yet to complete the survey, please do make time: 10
minutes, at the most, as this is vital information for the school. We are aiming for a 70%
return rate this time. So, I do urge all parents to complete the survey. I have included
the QR code in here for ease.
REMINDER: Year 11 , Year 6, and Year 9 Parents: Coffee Morning on 8th December from 8:00 am to 8:45 am
I would like to invite all Year 11, Year 6, and Year 9 parents to a Coffee Morning on 8th
December, with the focus of the session being Cambridge IGCSE and Checkpoint
Examinations. The session will explain the whole process of entries to certificates. Your
child's statement of entry for the examinations will also be available at the session and
all Cambridge exam related questions will be answered. Please RSVP through the invite
email.
Lastly, an invite to join us at the Christmas Concert on the 15th of December at 9:00
am! It would be great to see parents/family at the concert, and just like last time the
student will be performing their classroom-learnt pieces.
I hope everyone has a restful and pleasant weekend.
Regards,
April Peters
