Dear Parents and Guardians,
A short welcome back message. Welcome back to the second half of this term. On Monday the whole
school started the day with a stunning Dragon Dance by the students. I was amazed by the athletic
abilities of the children to “twirl” the kites and this was followed by a very elegant Hanfu dance
performed by a group of Secondary school girls, so beautiful. The closing ceremony will take place
next Monday to close out the Chinese New Year festivities for this year.
This week also saw the start of the Year 9 IGCSE taster classes in preparation for selecting IGCSEs
for Year 10.
Next week, we have the Primary Swimming Gala on Friday, so for Primary parents, you are welcome
to come and watch. I am looking forward to many aquatic delights! Details in the Message from
Head of Primary section. For those parents attending, please park on the campus as directed by the
security team.
Cambridge IGCSE examinations:
IGCSE Statement of Entries for the June 2024 Cambridge examination series were handed to Year 11
students today. The statements should be kept in a safe place until the IGCSE results are received.
Please note the submission deadline was 21st February, and any changes to entries will incur the first
late fee charge of RM400 until the 11th March, after which the second late fee charge is RM800.
On the statement, you will see the dates and session for each examination. The AM exam session will
start at 9:00 am and the PM exam session begins at 1:00pm. I will be sharing the internal assessment
dates next week and coursework deadlines.
In March, I will be conducting the IGCSE briefing with the students and sending an email home to
remind everyone of the examination arrangements, rules and regulations and how results will be
accessed in August. If you have any queries in the meantime, please do contact the school at the
usual email: [email protected] with the subject line: IGCSE June 24
Cambridge Invoices:
The invoices for Year 6 and Year 9 Cambridge Checkpoint and Year 11 IGCSE have been sent to
parents. Please do check your e-mail Inbox and also Spam folders in case it is being diverted there.
MySchool. External Booking
I would like to inform all parents that after school hours, the facilities in school are now bookable
and all the bookings will be handed by MySchool. The company have been informed of the
expectations regarding child safeguarding measures. We have arranged a buffer time between the end
of the CCAs and ECAs to enable the site/ area to be cleared before the external bookings start. This
initiative will in the future enable our students to join sports/activity sessions during weekends or
participate in holiday camps. If parents or associates wish to book one of our school facilities at a
more beneficial rate, please contact the school before making the booking with MySchool.
I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend.
April Peters
