Dear Parents and Guardians,
Firstly, Ramadan Mubarak to our Muslim families.
I hope everyone has had a productive week and that you are all managing to keep cool in this current
hot weather, which is set to continue into the coming week.
On Monday, I had the pleasure of awarding medals to our boys’ and girls’ basketball teams as a
celebration of their achievements in the recent basketball tournament against other local
international schools. The girls’ team gained third place whilst the boys’ team won the tournament. I
was incredibly happy to present the trophy and celebrate all successes during the assembly. I spoke
further in the assembly about how participating in sport itself and as an acronym can help us all to be
our better selves:
S: Strength of Character – Know yourself and be authentic
P: Positive Attitude- Have a growth mindset “I can, I will’
O: Others – How we treat others
R: Responsibility – For actions and consequences
T: Training- Practising to get better in all things.
This week, the major focus has been on completing Assessment Week for Term 2, so reports will be
issued in the last week of Term 2 and the Parents-Teachers Conference (PTC) for Early Years to Year
10 will take place on April 5th. I urge parents to save the date to enable them to attend the PTC to
discuss their child's progress and next steps. This Thursday, our Early Years students wowed the
audience in their first Primary school assembly.
Other news from the school, the sports house captains are looking at redesigning the house logos, we
are also in preparation for Earth Day and Book Week, which are all underway alongside the
preparation for the charity concert at the end of Term 3, and this concert will again be an event
wholly organised and managed by the students. Natalie Gan, our finalist in the XCL’s Got Talent
competition is practising her ballet piece hard to wow the judges again in April.
Next week, we have a group of Year 9 students going out on an Ecology Educational Visit hosted by
Sime Darby. On Thursday, we will have videographers in school to shoot a new school video, so
thanks to those who are starring in the video while at the end of the week we have a 3-days, 2-nights
trip to Tambun, Perak for our Secondary students
