Dear Parents and Guardians,
I trust everyone has had a good week and enjoyed the public holiday.
This week the annual Technovation Challenge was launched in assembly. The
challenges this year are centered around the 2030 Global Goals for sustainability. I hope
that we have many internal candidates in addition to the external invites sent out to our
sister schools and the wider community.
Next week, the last of this term, we have the start of some IGCSE Internal Assessments
- Speaking test for English and Chinese 2nd Language and the ICT practical papers so I
wish everyone taking part good luck! On Friday, 5th April we have the term 2 PTC, so we
hope to see as many of you as possible to discuss next steps for children as we move
into term 3.
On this coming Monday, we will launch our Hari Raya event during assembly which is
followed by an event on Wednesday 24th April - an open house event or "Rumah
Terbuka" in Malay for the whole school in the MPH to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
The event will be a potluck with year groups contributing to the event. Form tutors or
class teachers will co-ordinate who will bring what under the following categories:
- Early Years: Snacks / Hari Raya Biscuits
- Year 1 & 2: Drinks
- Year 3 & 4: Fruits
- Year 5 & 6: Tidbits
- Year 7: Cakes
- Year 8: Desserts
- Year 9 & 10: Proper meal items for Hari Raya.
Please note: These items brought must be halal and appropriate for the occasion: no
beef, no pork, and no nuts.
The dress code for the day is Malay traditional dress, otherwise traditional dress of any
other ethnicity or at least our school PE kit so that everyone is not in their formal school
uniform.
We thank you in advance for your support in this event.
Information:
The bookshop will be closed for the holiday from 6th to 14th April.
I wish everyone a pleasant weekend.
Regards,
April Peters
