Dear Students, Parents and Friends of SIKG,
Congratulations to Chu Huay!
I am delighted to share that Chu Huay (Year 11) has represented Malaysia in basketball at Under-16
level. He was part of the team that successfully competed during the qualifying rounds of the Asia
Cup in Philippines recently. To represent your country in sport is a huge achievement and his
determination, resolve and grit have been duly rewarded. It will have taken years of preparation
ahead of the many months of grueling selection trials to reach his goal. Chu Huay - the Sri KDU
Klang community is hugely proud of you!
Secondary Debate Championship Final
Well done to everybody who took part in the competition. They successfully navigated the challenge
of engaging the audience on the topic of full-time employment versus freelance work! Thank you to
Mr Gobi who has put a huge amount of effort and personal commitment into the competitions for
both Primary and Secondary.
Kuala Lumpur Sports League Secondary Swimming Competition

Inter-House Sports Competition
This week also saw students from Years 1 to 10 compete in the Inter-House Sports Competition.
Congratulations to Phoenix house on your victory. We are getting close to the end of the year and
seeing who will pick up the House Cup for 2024-25. Our upcoming House Music Competition will
be the last chance to seriously influence the results for the year.
Good luck!
Sharing of Student Achievements
As with Chu Huay’s success above, please keep us in the loop if any children from SIKG have
significant recent achievements so that we can celebrate these in our newsletter and assemblies.
Parent Survey (Reminder)
The Term 3 Parent Survey is now live and will close on June 15th. Please take five minutes to let us
know how we are doing. We are looking for a few more perfect 10 scores to show our progress!
Boarding House Update
The local authority planning department has verbally informed us the plan for the new boarding
house are to be approved. We are awaiting written confirmation of this and then will schedule a
stakeholder’s meeting to share more details about the construction timelines. I have sought and
received further assurances that the noisy piling work will be completed during the summer break
with the company having overseen a similar construction project successfully completed at our sister
school in Johor Bahru.
Security Gates at Backstage Area
We have completed the installation of security gates to control access to the backstage area in the
MPH. I am grateful to the Parents’ and Guardians’ Association (PGA) committee for first raising this
issue to help improve safety for students on campus.
Cafeteria Banana Day
Bananas was the theme of the day yesterday (Thursday, 5th June) as the cafeteria prepared banana-
based dishes to bring more joy and entertainment to students during their mealtime. Speaking of the
cafeteria, attached herewith is the menu for the month of June: June Cafeteria Menu
