At Sri KDU National School Kota Damansara, academic excellence has always been a cornerstone. Just as importantly, the school has built a strong reputation for nurturing creativity, expression, and confidence through the performing arts.
This balance was clearly on display as the school proudly hosted XCL’s Got Talent 2026.
Welcoming students from across the XCL network, the event brought together 40 acts from 9 schools across Sri KDU and REAL Schools, including both International and National campuses, creating a vibrant and high-calibre platform for young performers.
Representing the school across multiple acts in both Primary and Secondary divisions, Sri KDU National School students took to the stage with confidence, discipline, and a clear sense of artistry. From vocal performances to instrumental showcases and large-scale ensemble acts, the diversity of talent reflected the strength of the school’s performing arts programme.
As host, the school also brought the event to life beyond the competition itself. The programme featured energetic cheerleading performances from the school’s sports houses, as well as a special showcase by the award-winning Sri KDU Schools String Orchestra, under the direction of Ms Foo Mei Kay, Director of Performing Arts for Sri KDU Schools Kota Damansara. This collaborative performance brought together students from both the International and National schools, highlighting the strength and unity of the wider Sri KDU community.
Sri KDU National School Kota Damansara emerged as one of the standout schools of the competition. We are proud to celebrate the following achievements:
- Ashley Loh – Primary Grand Champion and Most Favourite Act (For the First Time in Forever)
- Sri KDU 24 Festive Drums Team – Most Creative Performance (Raging Sea)
- Kinsley Choh – Most Promising Act (Secondary) (Maison)
Ashley’s winning performance combined vocal strength with expressive musical theatre elements, reflecting her passion for storytelling through song. Already an accomplished young performer with experience in national and international competitions, she brought confidence, stage presence, and a natural ability to connect with her audience.
The 24 Festive Drums performance stood out for its powerful storytelling and precision. Through rhythm and movement, the team brought to life a narrative of courage, perseverance, and hope, reflecting not only technical skill but also strong teamwork and unity developed through months of dedicated practice.
Kinsley’s performance of Maison, a French piece centred on themes of home and belonging, stood out for its sincerity and emotional depth. Through her interpretation, she conveyed a strong sense of connection and expression, reflecting both her musical sensitivity and her potential as a developing performer.
These achievements highlight not only individual excellence, but also the strength of the school’s performing arts programme in cultivating creativity, discipline, and stage confidence.
Performing in front of judges such as Eugene Pook, Terry, and Tria Aziz, students were challenged to meet high artistic and technical standards. Their ability to rise to this level reflects both their dedication and the quality of guidance they receive.
Beyond the accolades, the experience itself was equally significant. Students gained valuable stage exposure, strengthened their confidence, and had the opportunity to represent the school within a wider community of performers.
At Sri KDU National School Kota Damansara, the arts are not seen as separate from academic learning, but as an essential part of a student’s development. Through opportunities like this, students learn to express themselves, think creatively, and build the confidence to perform both on stage and in life.
We extend our appreciation to our teachers and coaches for their passion and commitment, and to our parent community for their continued encouragement and support.
Congratulations to all our performers for representing the school with excellence, creativity, and pride.
