Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a very fast paced term, and I would like to begin by commending our students
for their continued hard work and dedication. The first half of the term concluded with
examinations, and students have now received their results. While grades are important, it
is equally important to remember that exams are a valuable part of the learning process.
They give students the opportunity to reflect on their understanding, identify areas for
improvement, and learn from any mistakes. When viewed in this way, assessments become
part of the journey of learning rather than simply the end goal, helping to ease some of the
pressure often associated with achieving high grades.
This half of the term has also focused heavily on transitions across the school. Our Year 9
students have taken an important step towards their IGCSE journey, with the elective
subject selection form shared with them yesterday and with parents today. We encourage
students to take the time to discuss their options carefully with their families before
submitting their choices.
At the same time, we have been working closely with our Year 6 students and parents as
they prepare for their transition into secondary school. This move is often daunting and our
aim to make it as clear as possible. We offer a number of workshops, tasters, transition days
and even have our secondary students speak to our Y6s about their experiences. This is all
in addition to opening up the school for parents to come and see the curriculum coverage
in our show and tell days. From next term, as part of this process, we are introducing
another step in which our Y6s can integrate. Year 6 students will be offered the opportunity
to register for and participate in a variety of our secondary school CCAs, allowing them to
begin experiencing different aspects of secondary school life. If, as parents, you are still
unsure, please reach out to us, we will be more than happy to provide the information you
need to put you at ease.
Finally, I would like to remind parents that student reports will be released at the end of
next week. This will be followed by our termly Parent Teacher Meetings, which will take
place on Friday 13th March and Tuesday 17th March.
Thank you for your continued support, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend ahead.
Warm regards,
Ms Maryam Jazayeri,
Head of Secondary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
