Energy. Expression. Performance.
These took centre stage at XCL’s Got Talent 2026, an annual celebration that brings together students from across the XCL Malaysia community in a vibrant showcase of talent.
Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya brought that same energy to life on stage. Students performed across both Primary and Secondary divisions, presenting a dynamic mix of talents. From high-energy dance performances to band and piano showcases, each act reflected the vibrancy of the school’s performing arts culture.
Competing alongside 35 other acts from across the Sri KDU and REAL Schools network and performing before a panel of experienced industry judges, Subang Jaya’s performances stood out not just for technical ability, but for the confidence and energy each student brought. Whether performing as part of an ensemble or stepping forward individually, students demonstrated strong stage presence and a willingness to express themselves fully.
We are proud to celebrate one of our very own, Sophia Xia Meng, who was awarded the Best Choreography Award in the Primary category for her performance, Beyond the Beat.
Her award-winning piece was a Latin-fusion dance medley that blended bold rhythms with a contrasting jazz-pop section, building towards a powerful and energetic finale. Through her choreography, Sophia combined technique, musicality, and storytelling, reflecting themes of resilience and determination while demonstrating strong control, coordination, and expressive movement.
Beyond individual recognition, the school’s presence across multiple categories highlighted the depth of talent and the collaborative spirit among students. Group performances, in particular, demonstrated coordination, teamwork, and the ability to perform as a cohesive unit.
Performing before judges such as Eugene Pook, Terry, and Tria Aziz challenged students to refine their performances and deliver with confidence and clarity. More importantly, the experience provided valuable exposure, strengthened stage confidence, and created opportunities to connect with peers across the XCL community.
At Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya, the performing arts play an important role in student development, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and confidence beyond the classroom.
We extend our appreciation to our teachers and coaches for their guidance, and to our parent community for their continued support. Congratulations to all our performers for bringing energy, creativity, and confidence to the stage.
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
