Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we bring this remarkable academic year to a close, we look back with immense pride at
everything our community has achieved together. This year has been a true testament to
the dedication of our students, the passion of our educators, and the unwavering support
of our families. By anchoring our efforts in our five school promises, we have aimed to
consistently provide a Sri KDU education aimed at preparing our children for an exciting
future.
Top Academic Outcomes
The hard work of our students has culminated in extraordinary academic success. We are
thrilled to share that in our recent GL Progress Test Results, every single year group
outscored the UK national average, highlighting the strength of our curriculum and
teaching. We fully expect our IGCSE and A level results (scheduled to be released in August)
to mirror this success as we continue to enhance and improve our learning programmes.
This consistent excellence is driven by our stable and dedicated teaching team; our
remarkably low staff turnover rate providing the classroom consistency needed to deeply
embed educational best practices.
Furthermore, our commitment to academic excellence extends beyond our campus. Our
educators have actively engaged in both international and Malaysian staff development,
undertaking internationally recognised qualifications and collaborating closely with peer
international schools. By presenting our own successful models at global educational
leadership conferences, our staff ensures that Sri KDU remains at the forefront of modern
pedagogy.
Holistic Character Development
At Sri KDU, we believe that education must nurture the whole child. Our vibrant arts
programme took centre stage this week with our spectacular school production of The
Addams Family Musical. This massive undertaking showcased the incredible creativity,
resilience, and collaborative spirit of our students, demonstrating our total commitment to
the arts. The weekly coffee morning performances also highlight the incredible talent of our
students and their supportive peri and class teachers
The 'Safe, Happy and Successful' school mission was felt every week during our student-led
Celebration Assemblies. These joyful gatherings allowed students to take ownership of their
achievements and share their learning with peers. Sri KDU also brought families together
through our International week and dedicated Korean, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, and
Malaysian cultural events. These celebrations, alongside our Primary Showcases of Learning
—where our youngest learners presented their deep insights into our year-long "Big Picture
Questions"—continue to strengthen our sense of community and belonging.
Welfare and Safeguarding
The safety, well-being, and happiness of our students form the foundation of everything we
do. We were proud that our very own Mrs. Jayazeri received an award from the XCL
organisation for the school’s outstanding safeguarding practices. This prestigious
acknowledgement highlights the rigorous standards, proactive care, and nurturing
environment we maintain daily to ensure every child feels secure and valued.
This dedication to student welfare is also evident in how we handle pivotal moments in
your child's educational journey. Our tailored transition programmes for students moving
from Year 6 into Year 7, and from Year 9 into their IGCSE years, have given both parents and
students complete assurance, clarity, and peace of mind as they step into new academic
chapters.
Future Proof Preparation
Preparing our students to be responsible global citizens means giving them opportunities
to lead and innovate outside the classroom. This year, our students expanded their horizons
through high-level sports tournaments, international debate circuits, and extensive
sustainability initiatives. Standouts included the academic and cultural excursions to Beijing
and Shanghai, which provided students with invaluable real-world exposure, and the
Sustainability Conference in Bangkok that further empowered students to tackle modern
environmental challenges. We are proud to share that these student-led green initiatives
earned formal recognition from the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC).
Coupled with our massive Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme—which hosts over 200
distinct activities a week and boasts an incredible 87% student participation rate—our
students are constantly developing the leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
necessary for the future.
Continuous Improvement
Our promise of continuous improvement ensures that we constantly refine our practices,
facilities, and teaching methods. Through robust internal CPD (Continuous Professional
Development) opportunities, our teachers regularly share cross-school insights to elevate
classroom learning. By investing in our staff, expanding our global networks, and listening
closely to our parent community, we hope to guarantee that Sri KDU International School
will continue to deliver on our promises.
Thank you parents for being an integral part of our success this year.
Warm regards,
Mr David Wilcock,
Vice Principal and Head of Primary,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
SAFE, HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
