Key Stage 2 Curriculum
Year 3 Group Description
Year 3 is a pivotal time within a child’s school life as it is the start of their journey in Key Stage 2. During the first term, the children will develop their knowledge and understanding of concepts they have learnt during their time in Year 2, whilst being introduced to the Year 3 curriculum. Through a carefully planned and well-rounded curriculum, lessons are structured to include cross-curricular links as much as possible to allow the children to link and extend their skills across various subjects and topics.
Please see below for an overview of the topics we explore in each term of Year 3.
Year 4 Group Description
At Sri KDU Subang Jaya, our Curriculum is designed around a different theme for every subject each term. These themes are topics extracted both from the Cambridge Curriculum and the student’s interests. When designing the teaching approach for each term, we strive to ensure that learning is cross curricular – making sure that skills such as reading and writing can be practised in all areas of learning, and that there are various opportunities for practical activities.
Each teaching team starts the term with a planning map and outline identifying the skills and knowledge that children need to learn. As the term progresses, the plans are often reviewed and adapted to keep up with the pace of learning and maintain the engagement of children’s interests.

Year 6 Group Description
Year 6 is very much a transitional year as the children reach the end of Key Stage 2. We are very aware that part of our role is to prepare our children for their move to secondary school and, with this in mind, much of the Year 6 curriculum fosters responsibility and independence. Along with the introduction of exciting new topics, we build upon the skills that they have previously learned.

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
