Dear families,
Since the beginning of this term, we have been ever so busy with a lot of small and also big projects, whether it has been transitioning into our new name or introducing new subjects and initiatives, we have been running at full speed.
Our Year 10 students were involved in our new Project Based Learning (PBL) initiative with the topic of Urbanisation; students looked at what urbanization means, its causes and the consequences it brings about. They then limited the topic on a particular focus and started their work. They presented their projects through TEDex, held for the first time on our campus. As an enhancement to our curriculum in the secondary school, PBL combines the knowledge students learn in their subject classes with the skills they are learning in their new Life-Skills subject needed in real life. These initiatives are aimed at giving our students the best tools and holistic education in order to prepare them for the future by giving the students the ability to take their learning outside their classroom and school and apply it to the real-world.
As part of our mission to build future leaders, we advertised our leadership roles to the whole school and eager candidates from both primary and secondary put themselves forward for the role. They prepared speeches about what they would do once elected, then presented them to their peers. After the elections were held, the successful candidates from both primary and secondary were announced in their respective assemblies this week.
With everything moving forward at a fast pace, it is not always a bad thing to move “backwards” as well; specifically, to the “old ways of school”. It was our pleasure to host the first whole primary school assembly this week. It was lovely to have all the primary students together for their first whole-school Star of the Week assembly since the pandemic. We look forward to creating more opportunities for the whole school to come together while at the same time ensuring the safety of our community by following our SOPs.
Last but not least, the English department ran a Comic Book competition themed “Attitude is everything!” With final submissions in on Wednesday this week, we congratulated the winners in our assembly today. The students created some amazing work, and you can all see the wonderful talent and creativity of your kids in the school reception area next week.
Have a lovely weekend.

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
