Dear Families,
With the unexpected closure of the school tomorrow, we can take pause to celebrate the ability to exercise the democratic right of the Malaysian public. Voting gives the opportunity to have your say, the opportunity to shape a bright future for our generation and that of our children. His Majesty the King officially opened the First Parliament on 11 September 1959. The House of Representatives which consisted of 104 elected Members convened for the first time a day earlier. This weekend, the 15th Malaysian General Election (GE15) is scheduled to be held and for the first time, 18–20-year-olds are eligible to vote. Almost 1000 candidates vying for parliamentary seats, making the polls the most intense in the country’s history. For a number of staff and families, this is the first experience of an election in another country, and I must say, it has been fascinating. We await the outcome over the weekend.
This week in school, we ran our first residential trip with our Year 10 students. Providing the opportunity to experience high ropes, wall climbing and water rafting, campfires and marshmallow roasting. These are the memories we know students will cherish over the years and will talk about with their own children when the time comes. Students, without realising, have developed their teamwork, resilience, problem solving skills and importantly independence. Year 6 have also been on a school trip this week where they experienced ‘forces in action’ with indoor skydiving. Opportunities such as school trips are ones which have measurable outcomes and ones we are committed to providing to all year groups in the school. Up next, at the beginning of December are Year 9!
Congratulations to our U11 Basketball team who won the AIMS cup this week and to the U9 benchball team who participated in their fixture on Wednesday. We look forward to the SRI KDU Cup which has been rearranged for a few weeks’ time. Congratulations also to our year 11 and 12 students who today have completed their first round of mock examinations. These papers will scaffold and provide information on what is next in learning and what is still needed in preparation for examination next summer. You all deserve a well-earned rest this weekend!
If your child is involved in the theatre trip tomorrow, we hope they have a wonderful time, for all other families, we hope you enjoy the extended weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend.

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
