Dear Families,
We are coming to the end of what has been a long but successful Term 2. The pace is not letting up however and the campus has been full of activity over the last week, with class photographs, sports fixtures and talent competitions.
We are very excited to inform you that next week (3rd April – 7th April) will be “Spirit Week” in school. This week is all about celebrating our school spirit and coming together as a team. As part of spirit week, there will be many exciting activities taking part across a variety of subjects for the students to enjoy. There will also be an opportunity for everyone to dress up; such as house colour day, twin day and pyjama day. There will also be an opportunity for the everyone to donate to a charity selected by our student council members, every day during next week. Collection boxes for donations will be placed in the primary entrance, the secondary entrance and the reception area.
From Monday 3rd to Friday 7th April, we look forward to welcoming all parents to our Ramadhan Bazaar. The sessions will run from 1pm to 4pm, apart from Friday when the bazaar will be open from 11am to 2pm. We very much that you come down and join in the fun.
The Sri KDU STARS Talent Competition performance today saw some amazing performances by all our finalists. Congratulations to all who participated and families for their support. Today’s SLT Coffee Morning provided information on our school become the first in our group to become a member of the Council of International Schools. Mr Tait shared information on the membership process and the benefits of membership for the community; thank you to those parents who attended. This was followed by a parent information by the primary team on language pathways. Thank you to Mr Saiful and Mr Dawson for hosting the session and we hope that this was useful in explaining how languages are timetabled and structured in the Primary School.
We were also very pleased this week to present certificates and prizes from the Alice Smith School for students who took part in The International Science Fair. In addition, congratulations to Year 6 student Zaina Tanaz Islam for being the winner of the national Crayola Creativity Week 2023 in the category of Keys to Kindness. Zaina’s artwork will soon be on display on campus.
Thank you and have a lovely weekend,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team,
Graham Tait
Head of Primary
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
