Dear Families,
As we near the end of the penultimate week of a busy and exciting term, we are delighted to share with you the remarkable events that have taken place, many of which have centred around the development of our 'Sri KDU Promise' for Holistic Character Development.
First and foremost, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Primary School parents for your unwavering support during Sports Week. Your presence and encouragement have meant the world to our students, inspiring them to give their best and truly embody the spirit of healthy competition. We are grateful for your dedication and commitment and for the warm and excited atmosphere that was felt on the School Field for the Primary Sports Days this week.
Sports Week was an outstanding success, despite the significant changes that had to be made to accommodate the on-going heatwave, all of our students wholeheartedly participating in their respective Sports Days. Despite the heat, our students exhibited remarkable resilience and sportsmanship. A special mention of thanks to the PE department who have continued to drive these events and use their creativity to make necessary adjustments and adaptations to plans at such short notice.
Our annual Charity Walkathon took place for the second time this year, an event that not only promotes physical activity but also cultivates a sense of social responsibility. Students completed laps of the school field, walking, jogging, and running around the school field or parameter road, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to society. By actively raising funds for the chosen cancer charity, our students showcase compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the needs of others. We thank our community for their generosity in sponsoring the students in this event and kindly ask that all donations are handed in to class/form teachers by Wednesday 5th July.
In addition to fostering physical fitness, these sporting events have helped in the development of valuable soft skills. Through teamwork, cooperation, and healthy competition, our students have honed their leadership qualities and interpersonal skills. Notably, our fantastic student leaders from Year 10 and Year 6 have demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout Sports Week, guiding their peers and setting a shining example for all.v
Building upon the success of the Music Gala/Disco which took place in school on Wednesday evening, we are excited to announce the upcoming Arts Week, which will take place next week. This week-long celebration of music, art, and drama will provide our students with even more opportunities to explore and express their artistic passions. From workshops and performances to exhibitions and showcases, Arts Week promises to be a vibrant and inspiring experience for all.
As part of the Arts week, we are thrilled to announce that the Music Gala, an evening of Movies and Musicals, will take place on Thursday, 6th July, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This highly anticipated event promises to showcase some fantastic performances and show some iconic movies and beloved musicals to inspire our students.
We commend our students for their dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm throughout this busy term of events, and we extend our gratitude to the teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure their success. These activities provide valuable opportunities for our students to develop not only their academic abilities but also the essential soft skills that are highly sought after in today's ever-changing world.
As we approach the end of this term, we would like to remind you that the CCAs have concluded for this term. Kindly arrange for your child to be collected promptly at the end of lessons (2.50/3.00pm) next week.
Have a wonderful weekend,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team
Joseph Bently
Cluster Director for Sport & Extended School
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
