Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well. It's been an eventful 6 weeks in the new academic
year, and we're excited to share some of the highlights with you.
Our secondary student council has been hard at work, focusing on important issues ranging
from fire safety to fundraisers. They are truly the voice of their classmates, striving to make
our school environment even happier and safer. This week, they're focused on maximizing
the use of lockers, making daily school life more convenient for everyone. Meanwhile, our
primary student council has taken on a crucial mission—improving road safety near the
roundabout in front of the school. We kindly ask all parents to be vigilant around the
school's crossings and while driving on the premises to help us ensure the safety of our
students.
Our probationary prefects have also been busy behind the scenes, working diligently to
organize events and create a welcoming atmosphere at our school. Stay tuned for the
exciting initiatives they have in store for us.
We are looking forward to beginning Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC), an integral
part of our holistic approach to development, one of our School Promises. EOTC is
designed to provide our students with invaluable learning experiences beyond the confines
of traditional classroom walls. Throughout the academic year, we all year groups will be
given lots of EOTC opportunities, starting with our Year 10 students embarking on their first
residential trip to Broga Hills on the 9-10th October. This adventure includes an overnight
stay at a specialist facility and a series of team-building activities and opportunities for
students to push themselves in an array of challenges. Throughout the academic year, we're
planning a range of educational trips for each year group, both primary and secondary, to
ensure our students have plenty of enriching experiences. Some exciting destinations on
the horizon include the Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium, the Theatre and some exciting
International trips for our Secondary school students.
As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, we kindly request that parents wear
their parent tags when on campus. This simple step helps us identify authorized individuals
and maintain a secure environment. Please don't be surprised if our staff ask to see your
parent tags—it's all in the interest of your child's safety. We're also introducing windshield
stickers for vehicles. You can collect two stickers per family from the reception area or
request them to be handed to your children for your convenience via
[email protected]. Starting from Monday, October 23rd, we will require that all cars
entering the premises display these stickers. This additional measure is also part of our
comprehensive approach to safeguarding our school community.
Thank you for your continued support in making Sri KDU a safe and welcoming place for all
our students.
Warm regards,
On behalf of the leadership team,
Maryam Jazayeri
Deputy Head of Secondary School
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
