Dear Parents,
I trust this message finds you well and that you've had a wonderful week. It's been a while since I've shared a newsletter introduction, and I'm pleased to take this opportunity to reflect on the enriching experiences our students have embraced throughout Term 1. From the various Co-Curricular Activities to the engaging Education Outside of the Classroom initiatives (EOTC), our students have been actively participating and contributing to their holistic development.
I would like to start with a huge thank you to the parent community for your unwavering support of the enrichment programme. Whether it's attending trips, fixtures, or those early morning drop-offs for sports team training, your commitment has not gone unnoticed. Looking back on Term 1, we've celebrated significant improvements in student engagement, marked by our highest-ever attendance in the CCA programme, a record uptake in sports, and the most school trips in a single term. These achievements not only align with our school promise of fostering holistic character development but also stand as a testament to the supportive nature of our entire school community.
As we prepare for Term 2, your valuable feedback has played a pivotal role in shaping our offerings. I'm pleased to share exciting developments in our CCA programme, as outlined in my letter on Wednesday. Plans include an expanded offering of STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, art and maths), with a focus on coding and technology-based options. A particularly exciting addition is the 'Drone Academy' CCA, now open to both Primary and Secondary students. Additionally, we've increased academic and IGCSE support options for Year 10 and 11 students, along with additional second language sessions across the primary school.
Bookings for Term 2 CCAs will go live on Engage from 6pm on Monday 4th December. However, it's crucial to settle all outstanding invoices by 10am on Monday to prevent any account blockages. Please take a moment to review the information sent on Wednesday, including details on our move to payments on Vircle. In moving to virlce for payments, we hope to streamline our payments system which feedback has suggested was crucial for our continued improvement. Thank you to parents for providing direct ‘user’ feedback so we might make these tweaks to our processes. We hope this process will be smoother for you in Term 2.
This term has been marked by 11 exhilarating school trips so far, from the scenic Broga Hill expedition for Year 10 to captivating visits to the Bufori Motor Car Factory and the Wind labs for Year 6. The joy on their faces upon returning to school reminds us of the immense value of these enrichment experiences outside the classroom, enhancing students overall educational journey. With three more trips scheduled, including the Year 3 visit to Petrosains, the Year 4 trip to Kidzania and the Year 9 Tandom Hill trip, I want to commend the dedicated staff who have made these opportunities possible for our students.
Term 2 promises further excitement, with several trips already in the planning stages, including our first international trips of the academic year, for the FOBISIA swimming event in Thailand and the Ski trip departing to Switzerland.
Finally, a reminder for parents to complete the survey sent out this week from the XCL central team. We understand that your time is valuable, but we genuinely believe that your input will help us improve our services and better meet the needs of our students and families. We act upon feedback given, as you know, and continue to strive to work hand in hand with parents.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and involvement in your child's education. Please be reminded that for question 22, only a score of 9 or 10 shows you are generally happy with what we do. If you are happy with what we do, a reminder of our ‘Refer a Family’ flyer is attached. This is a great opportunity to grow our school community and be rewarded for doing so!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of our enrichment programme. Your commitment to the holistic development of our students is a testament to the strength of our school community. As we eagerly anticipate another term of growth and exploration beyond the curriculum, we look forward to creating more memorable moments and opportunities for our students.
Wishing you a fantastic week ahead!

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
