Dear Families,
As we approach the joyous season of Christmas, it is a wonderful time to reflect on the
values that define this festive occasion and how they resonate with the school
promises and principles we uphold in our educational community. Christmas is not
only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to impart valuable lessons that
extend beyond the holiday season. At the heart of Christmas lies the spirit of love and
compassion. At SRI KDU, we encourage students to cultivate empathy and kindness
towards their peers, teachers, and the wider community. Just as the Christmas season
inspires us to show love through gift-giving and acts of kindness, we strive to foster an
environment where our staff and students recognise the importance of understanding
and supporting one another.
Christmas is of course synonymous with the joy of giving. All of us at SRI KDU feel
both grateful and proud to be part of a generous community, a community that
shares knowledge, time, and support in so many ways. For me personally, the sense of
belonging and support within our school mirrors the warmth of a festive gathering
and was exemplified by the Xmas Fayre, the Carol Singing, the Winter Soiree and The
Winter Concert this week. These events celebrate who and where we are as a school
community, lots of smiling faces and expressions of joy, and a sense of togetherness,
all of which contribute to our well-being. Equally, our students are encouraged to
contribute to the well-being of others in lots of ways, from simple good manners to
the giving of gifts at special times, to the positive interactions and discussions that
occur daily in classrooms. This well-being extends to instilling a sense of gratitude in
our students, encouraging them to appreciate the opportunities for learning and
personal growth. The holiday season does indeed serve as a poignant reminder to
also be grateful for the blessings we have. We live in a wonderful country, we have a
wonderful school community and we have many opportunities to learn and grow
together. This is often very difficult for children to understand as their environment is
often all they know. To instil a sense of gratitude is often very challenging but at this
time of year, it is potentially a time for all of us to appreciate the opportunities we all
have for learning and personal growth. By fostering a culture of thankfulness at SRI
KDU we can aim to help our students develop a positive outlook and a greater
appreciation for their educational journey.
As the year comes to a close, Christmas encourages reflection and renewal. After our
Parent Teacher Conferences this week, this is now a time for students to assess their
achievements, set new goals, and embrace the opportunity for growth. By promoting a
culture of reflection and renewal at SRI KDU, we hopefully guide our students and
their families on a continuous journey of self-discovery and improvement. As we
celebrate the holiday season, let us carry these values into the new year, fostering a
school environment that reflects the true spirit of Christmas throughout the entire
academic year. May this festive season bring joy, warmth, and a renewed commitment
from us all to the 5 promises that shape our educational community. Merry Xmas!
Wishing you a safe, happy weekend

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
