Dear Families,
As we step into the vibrant tapestry of the Luna New Year, it is an opportune time to reflect
on the values that bind us together as a diverse and inclusive community. Thaipusam, this
week, a celebration of devotion and endurance, teaches us the importance of resilience
and commitment to our beliefs. Similarly, the Lunar New Year in two weeks time, brings
with it a spirit of renewal and family unity, emphasising the values of harmony and
prosperity. These values instilled in our students extend beyond the classroom, laying the
foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth.
In an era of rapid change and uncertainty, preparing for an unknown future becomes
paramount. Research emphasises the need for adaptability and continuous learning. As
parents and educators, we share the responsibility of equipping our children with the skills
and mindset to navigate the unpredictable landscape ahead. By embracing the values of
resilience, commitment, and unity ingrained in Thaipusam and Lunar New Year celebrations,
we not only strengthen our families but also prepare our children for the challenges and
opportunities that lie beyond the horizon.
In the midst of celebrating cultural festivities and prioritising education, it's crucial to
acknowledge the contemporary challenges families face. Research consistently highlights
the struggle of balancing work and family life. Juggling professional responsibilities while
fostering a supportive home environment can be demanding. As we cherish these moments
of cultural celebration and learning with our families, let's also reflect on the importance of
finding a balance that nurtures both personal and professional aspects of our lives. In the
spirit of nurturing well-rounded individuals, we encourage families to explore the joys of
reading together and engaging activities where you can laugh, forget external worries or
stresses. Providing opportunities for quality family time not only strengthens bonds but
also creates a supportive environment for children to flourish. As adults, we have an
opportunity for escapism from our hectic lives with our children and the sometimes missed
opportunities for connection and memory building with our children.
As we collectively navigate the complexities of work-life balance and embrace the unknown
future, let us find solace in the traditions that bind us together, seeking inspiration from the
values of harmony, prosperity, and commitment celebrated during Thaipusam and the
upcoming Lunar New Year.
Wishing you resilience in the face of challenges, adaptability in the midst of change, and a
weekend filled with moments of joy, laughter, and continuous learning.
Have a lovely weekend,
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team,
Cassie Fleming,
Principal
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
