Dear Families,
There has been a distinct mathematical theme in the building this week, a theme which we link to the date; March 14th. It is a concept our youngest to oldest students have heard and or learned about. It is arguably one of the most intriguing mathematical constants - Pi. As Mr Delahaye said, on Wednesday of this week had you spoken of Pi to some of our students, they might have responded with “yummy, apple pie, or blueberry pie….” Following today and yesterday, your child will now tell you different. Pi, symbolized by the Greek letter π, has fascinated mathematicians, scientists, and enthusiasts for generations. It's defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Mr Brown, Head of Secondary Mathematics will share, I am no mathematician, however I must agree, there is something intriguing about the concept of Pi.
Pi's uniqueness lies in its infinite nature. Unlike regular numbers, Pi doesn't neatly end or repeat. Instead, it goes on and on, unfolding into a never-ending sequence. For me, Pi's never-ending nature teaches us to embrace the idea of infinity in our lives. Just like Pi, life is filled with endless possibilities, opportunities, and experiences waiting to unfold. By having an open and growth mindset, we can open ourselves up to new adventures and growth. Pi also teaches us persistence and determination: one of the favourite activities in the school this week was memorizing Pi to as many digits as possible. I was amazed by this showcase of skill in the Primary assembly today and was so incredibly impressed one of our secondary students managed to write Pi to its 200th digit!! In life, achieving our goals often requires perseverance in the face of challenges and setbacks. Pi reminds us that with dedication and effort, even seemingly impossible tasks can be accomplished. Today also reminded us that both music and fun can be found everywhere; congratulations to our students who shared their raps about Pi in the secondary assembly! If you get a moment, challenge your child to show you how many digits of pi they remember; I am sure you will be impressed!!
Congratulations to the maths leads this week and to all staff who supported. With poetry week starting on Monday, we strive towards our promise of Top Academic Outcomes while making learning, fun, memorable, engaging and relevant.
Have a lovely weekend,
On behalf of Senior Leadership Team

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
