Dear families,
This week was brimming with colour, performances, and international flavours as we
celebrated International Week. It was wonderful to see the rich tapestry of cultures and
nationalities that make up our school community. Students proudly wore traditional
costumes and shared their heritage through various performances. The excitement was
palpable as they engaged in interactive workshops, learning about diverse traditions and
customs from around the world. This celebration wasn’t just about broadening horizons; it
showcased the unity and inclusivity that define our school.
On Thursday, we celebrated Teacher’s Day, which provided a special opportunity for
students and parents to express their gratitude for the dedication and hard work our
teachers put in. The day was filled with special activities and heartfelt messages, recognising
the pivotal role our teachers play in shaping the futures of our students. Their commitment
to education is inspiring, and it was wonderful to see this acknowledged in such a
meaningful way.
Adding to the week’s triumphs, we were thrilled to hear the fantastic news from the AIMS
Badminton tournament. Our U11 Girls team emerged victorious, clinching 1st place and the
U11 Boys finished in second place. This achievement is a testament to their commitment,
determination, and progress in the sport. Congratulations to all the Badminton team
members for their contributions to the AIMS tournaments this week. Your dedication and
teamwork have made us all incredibly proud.
Looking ahead, there is much anticipation for our upcoming school production of Peter
Pan. Students and staff have been working hard to bring this story to life on stage. Their
hard work and creativity will culminate in a spectacular performance. We would like to
invite all members of our school community to join us for this event, taking place next week
between 23-25th May.
As we come to the end of this eventful week, we would like to extend our thanks to
everyone who contributed to making it so special, including the International Week
organising team, led by Mrs Delahaye and Mrs McDermott and the PTA who coordinated
the food fair and Teacher’s Day gifts.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team,
Joe Bently
Head of Enrichment & Wider Learning
We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
