Dear Families
I hope your children have had a fabulous first few days of the academic year and you as a family are getting back into the swing of routines and especially the early mornings. What a week it has been!
The energy in the school building has been one of excitement and care. We have taken some time this week in all classrooms to reacquaint with each other and to forge initial stages of friendship with new classmates. This was especially extended within the secondary school where children have not moved onto formal timetables yet and have worked through their first PBL of the year; building team work and collaboration skills essential for success in their curriculum subjects and for life beyond school.
You will have noticed we are quickly moving to formalise programs such as our Music Coaching Program (MCP) and Co-Curricular Activities program (CCAs) to ensure we fulfil our promise of Holistic Character Development to you and get our routines in place as soon as possible. MCP registration was launched today (Friday 23rd August) The CCA list was also shared today with sign up from Sunday 25th August. A reminder that CCA sign up is on VIRCLE. Please follow the guidance shared by Ms Nadirah and if you encounter any difficulties, Vircle are hosting a support session in school on Monday 26th at 8.15am. We have extended once again the number of places available on our CCA program to avoid disappointment and I hope your children will find something they are interested in.
In addition to launching our student opportunities this week, to continue to support in our promise to parents of ‘Continuous Improvement’ we will be once again setting up a Parent Schools Advisory Board (SAB) for the year. We are formally governed as a school by XCL education and have regular meetings, however, having a site specific School Advisory Board was very beneficial last year and I would like to specifically thank Kuan Yee, Penny and Chris as parents who worked with us. The purpose, scope and direction of the SAB will be shared early next week and I would welcome parents to get involved in this if it interests you. It is a role similar to that of a parent governor (as can be seen in the British Schools System) without the financial, staffing or regulatory responsibilities. The SAB meet once per term to provide a sounding board for strategic development and improvement. Being involved in this board gives an opportunity to impact the school direction from a more formal perspective. Please reach out to me if you have any questions and I look forward to your application next week when this is launched. This process is by appointment and is voluntary.
The team are and I are incredibly excited by this upcoming year and I would like to thank parents for their involvement and for working with us so closely in advance. We know, the stronger our relationship with home, the greater the statistical probability of success for your children. You will find later in the newsletter the biographies of our new staff members; please note we have grown as a staff this year to ensure the quality of education and experience your children receives continues to improve. Please reach out if you need anything at any point in the year, we will work together to fulfil our mission of a safe, happy and successful community.
Have a lovely weekend,
Cassie Fleming

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius. However, we are glad we made the visit to the school before our final call, and it was the best decision ever! It was a huge transition period for us during the first 2 weeks into school, but the school’s team (Teachers, Administrative and Parent’s Teacher Association) made us feel right at home. We were given clear guidance and was kept well informed on the happenings in the school. My daughter blended into the community quite well with the care provided by the Homeroom teacher. All the teachers here are the kindest, as she told me. She looks forward to going to school and has become more disciplined in terms on knowing what tasks she needs to complete daily. She has gained so much confidence during this short period of time and was given the encouragement to explore and develop her abilities here. She was just selected as the new Primary House Captain for Year 6 AY2022/2023.
Every parent want to find the ‘perfect’ school for their child and are afraid of making the wrong decision. For us, as long she is safe and happy, we believe, she will eventually find the way to her own success.
