Anthony Partington

QUALIFICATION

Anthony is the Chief Executive Officer of XCL Education Malaysia. He completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Christ Church, University of Oxford. After leaving Oxford, Anthony worked in the City of London in public, media and analyst relations. A passion for English Literature and life-long learning led him to being asked to work first as a teacher as part of the reforms at a school in Bolton and then to Trinity College, University of Cambridge to train as an English teacher in 2002.

He has worked at a number of schools in Cambridgeshire, England, including pastoral leadership and leading the internationally renowned English and media faculty across the Parkside Federation of academies in Cambridge. Anthony joined the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) in 2010 to support the improvement of Nene Park Academy, where he worked as Assistant Principal leading on the development of the sixth form, literacy, English as an additional language, special needs and latterly as the Vice Principal with responsibility for the curriculum, timetable and student achievement throughout the academy. In July 2014, Anthony was appointed as Principal of Stamford Welland Academy with the brief to deliver the ‘Stamford Free School’ vision. During his time here, the school secured its best examination results and Ofsted inspection judgment in its history. In September 2017, he became CMAT’s Executive Director of Education responsible for the quality assurance of all the academies and teacher professional development from initial teacher training to leadership succession planning and development.

In February 2019, Anthony joined GEMS as the Principal of GEMS International School Tropicana Metropark, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Whilst completing a Masters with UCL Institute of Education, Anthony conducted research into and published on the teaching of literacy. He is a frequent conference speaker, presenting on school leadership and English teaching and editor of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ and ‘Twelfth Night’ in the Cambridge University Press Cambridge School Shakespeare series. Anthony believes in a whole education striving for academic excellence and great examination results, whist providing the experiences and building the character skills that student need to thrive in learning, work and life. In his spare time, Anthony enjoys travel, film, theatre, music, singing, running, and exercise.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that the science labs and science preparation room are in good and proper order.

Maintain/upgrade the conditions and facilities/infrastructure of respective labs.

Maintenance check on all lab facilities.

Check that the fume cupboards, emergency eyewash station, drench shower, water ionizer, gas pipes/taps, refrigerator, first aid kit (replenish if necessary) and etc are properly maintained.

Prepare/replenish bench solutions and ensure that the bottles are properly labeled and stored.

Preparation of laboratory materials, equipment before lessons.

Maintenance of laboratory records such as:

Update on the records of price list for lab material;

Laboratory facilities maintenance schedule upon completion of maintenance check;

Laboratory stock inventory record upon issuance, receipt or write-off of items.

Constantly update the filing of documents such as: Purchase order/Delivery Order;

Make requisitions for purchases/services using online portal.

Identify faulty equipment and send them out for supplier’s service if necessary.

Referring to the updated calibration List, identify items required calibration and send them out to approve supplier/dealer.

Assist the purchasing department to obtain quotations for item/ service required from approved dealers/suppliers.

Managing the stock control of chemicals, solutions and equipment/apparatus; assist in labelling, storage and stocktaking and ordering of chemicals and consumables;

Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly; conduct safety audits for the laboratories.

Other duties as assigned:

Be present in the lab during practical sessions to give assistance when needed.

To carry out such other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Principal or any person acting on his behalf.

for staff.

To take monthly water and electrical meter reading for all cafeterias.

The incumbent’s integral role would be to support the Head of Marketing with the creation of visuals (traditional and digital platforms) for Internal and External marketing campaigns execution. He/she is expected to be able to contribute visual ideas to support short and long term growth strategies to raise the Sri KDU brand to improve our recruitment efforts leading to improved enrollment numbers and revenue. This person will also be responsible for creating content on our social media handles e.g. FB, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube to build brand loyalty via a structured Social Media strategy to boost our online presence. This person should be able to work independently.

The minimum expectations for this role would be that he/she has experience working with a wide range of media including videography, photography, GIFs, motion graphics, digital designs, and social media platforms. He/she must keep abreast with trends, emerging technologies and software development particularly design programmes. He/she will also be expected to use innovation to redefine requirements within stipulated constraints.

Job Description:

Managing and monitoring of the budget, preparation of management reports, financial performance,
cash flow, company tax computation and compliance.

Liaising with banks, lawyers, auditors and other third parties.

To ensure the treasury functions of the company is monitored in terms of fund placements for long
and short term.

Review and monitor the financial results of the school on monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.

Be on an advisory role to the CEO and Principal, as the case may be on financial matters and finance

Job Description:

Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and EAL (English as an Additional Language) across the curriculum in Key Stage 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum of England.

To work with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to inform on the writing of ILPs (Individual Learning Plans).

To be able to help implement the strategies listed in the ILPs and support students accordingly.

To adapt teaching materials used in the lessons when necessary.

Job Description:

To assist teachers in supporting learning that enables all children to access the curriculum and learn to the best of their ability.

To work with and support an identified child with specified academic, physical and emotional/ behavioural/ medical needs on an individual basis.

Finance & Bursary

Review, monitor and manage daily cash flow for the company To ensure month-end and year-end closing
are accurate, complete and timely.

Preparation of journal entries, detailed reports and account reconciliations on a timely manner and
to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

To analyze and correct any discrepancies/variances during preparation of monthly financial
statements, balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules.

Provide guidance to and develop staff, provide on-the-job training to staff and motivate staff.

Coordinate, review and monitor day to day activities within the accounting & admin functions in all
aspects of business.

To manage documentation as well as monitor compliance and consistency in work processes and
procedures, within the company and with the rest of the group companies.

Liaise with banks, lawyers, internal & external auditors, tax consultants and other third parties

We visited numerous international schools in Klang-Valley and Sri KDU Subang Jaya was not even on our list. Reason being it is way out of our travelling radius.
